Over the next few weeks we are asking First Years to focus on the mechanics of their writing: Capitals, Organisation, Punctuation and Spelling. They can find details of this on posters around the school and in their journals.
Badminton

Congratulations to the five badminton teams who represented the school in Killarney on Tuesday for the Kerry Schools Badminton Competition. We had two girls team in the under 16 and 19 age group and three boys teams at under 14, 16 and 19. All teams put in a fantastic performance and did both themselves and the school very proud. The under 16 girls finished in 3rd place. While the under 19 boys finished in 2nd in a very competitive category. The under 14 boys also claimed 2nd place after a very closely contested final. Well done to all.

Second Year Parent Teacher Meeting takes place this evening from 4:15pm to 6:45pm in the school gym. Parents are asked to arrive no later than 5:30pm to ensure you have the opportunity to meet all teachers. Can I ask all parents to sign in on arrival.

Pre Examinations Timetables

Pre Examination timetables are now published on the school website and the school app. A reminder students are required to be present in school for the full day when they have timetabled exams and students disregarding this instruction will not have pre examinations administered to them within school the school. Further information on the Inhouse and Pre Examinations attendance policy can be found on the school website.
BT Young Scientist Exhibition

Best of luck to our students who are exhibiting at the BT Young Scientist at the RDS in Dublin. Sarah Scanlon and Niamh Culhane of TY2 have completed a fantastic project on 'The hardest choice' relating to care of the elderly. Meanwhile another group of ladies from TY2 are exhibiting their project 'Is this the final straw? ' relating to our use of the drinking straw and its impact on the environment. The two teams left the school early Wednesday morning and will return on Saturday. The fact they have been chosen to exhibit at the Young Scientist is a great achievement. Congratulations to the girls and Mr. Nash and best of luck over the next couple of days.
