Just a reminder that the Parents Council of Our Lady's School AGM is on this :
Thursday , the 25th October 2018 at 8pm.
There are two items on the agenda for this short meeting:

Keynote speaker – Monica Rowe
“Teenage Girls and Pressures they Face”
Monica Rowe has worked with young people for over 20 years. She is a well renowned speaker in both primary and secondary schools around the country, presenting on issues such as bullying, online bullying, cyber safety, self-confidence, isolation, consent and empathy. She has spent all of her working life with young people working with Childline before becoming the founder and Managing Director of Key Conversations. Her mission is to educate people on issues around self-worth and developing the confidence to speak up and speak out.

All parents are invited to attend the AGM of the Parents' Council on Thursday 25th October at 7:30pm. The Council play an integral role in the life of the school community here at OLS. At this year's AGM it is intended to elect a greater number of parents to the committee with the aim that each Form Class has representation. After the short election process, we are delighted to welcome Monica Rowe to address the parent body on some of the issues facing teenagers and their parents in today's world.
We look forward to seeing you all on the night.

Congratulations to gold medalist Ellen Keane from all at OLS!
Ellen competed in the World Para Swimming European Championships in the National Aquatic Centre over the last week clinching the gold in 100m Breaststroke for Team Ireland! Ellen also secured a bronze medal in the 200m Individual Medley.
Ellen visited the school in March 2017 to launch our Health Week. She addressed the students at a whole school assembly and spoke about the importance of resilience. She also brought her bronze Olympic medal from Rio 2016 to show the girls.
Well done to Ellen on her outstanding achievements!

Information for students who would like to review their scripts

All students will have received an application form to view their scripts with their exam results (15/8/18).
Any student who is interested in reviewing their scripts must complete this application form and return to the front office in Our Lady's School on or before Tuesday (21/8/18) by 3pm.
Please mark your envelope for the attention of Ms S. Flannery.
Students will be assigned a date and time to view their scripts from the following dates.
The following dates and times are set by the State Exams Commission (SEC) and scripts are not available to view outside these hours.
Session 1 Friday (31/8/18) 6.00-9.00pm
Session 2 Saturday (01/09/18) 9.00-12.00pm
Session 3 Saturday (01/09/18) 2.00-5.00pm

Students swipe in as normal but go to workshop venue, as outlined below, for 8.30am.
Students are to wear school tracksuits and runners for the day. Break and lunch are as usual.

Wednesday:
Lunchtime meeting in Room 43 for students tutoring adult IT lessons.
Thursday:
Opening Year Mass 11am (normal start and finish times for school).
Friday:
Lunchtime meeting in GPA for Gaisce queries/assistance.
Notes:
Work Experience queries: Ms Coyne available Tuesday at break time and Wednesday at lunch time on 1st Year Corridor.
