The National Parents Council post primary are hosting a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Seminar at Trinity College Dublin, Saturday 21st April, from 9:30 to 1pm.The topic is “STEM in Post Primary: A Pathway to Success”. The Seminar will include speakers from the Department of Education and Skills, Science Foundation Ireland and Trinity College and will cover best routes into STEM careers. Please let your parents know and to register for the Seminar at Eventbrite.ie. This link is included in the flyer attached.

Best of luck to the students representing Our Lady's School at The High School MUN conference on Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st April. Aideen Walshe, Maire Bishop, Aimée Murphy and Anna Waters will be representing France. Clara Wheeler, Ana Cooke, Ella Manning, Aimée Cosgrove, Phoebe Van Egeraat, Emily Jones and Robyn McCarthy will be representing The Netherlands. Nicole Dempsey, Alisha Shanagher, Mohana Sarwar, Emma Casier and Sorcha Commins will be representing Turkey.
Parents' Council/ Plant Sale

Dear Parents
We need volunteers to help with the upcoming Plant Sale on Friday 11th May (set up 11.00 to 2.00 and selling 4.00 to 7.00) and Saturday 12th May (10.00 to 4.00). If anyone is free for some (or all) of the time on either day it would be really appreciated. Please contact Parents' Council on parentscouncil@olschool.ie or text/call 086-3470395 with your name and availability.
What is required:-
Friday 11th May
Set up is from 11.00 a.m. approx. to 2.00 p.m. This involves laying out St. Joseph's Hall with tables, taking plants from delivery trolleys and then the display and pricing of plants.
Set up of the pop up coffee shop which opens the following day will also be required.
Selling then is from 4.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. which requires taking payment and helping with bring plants to the cars where required.
Saturday 12th May - 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Type of help that will be needed is:-
Keeping plants restocked on tables as they sell to ensure they are displayed at their best.
Selling raffle tickets
Assistance with tea/coffee pop up shop and tidy up
Carrying plants as needed or bringing plants to cars for those who are elderly or have small children
Clean up of hall and stock take of plants being returned at end of sale.

Career Night 2018 was held last night and attended by 5th students. The evening was a great chance for students to learn about various careers. Many thanks to the Parents, Past Pupils and Friends of OLS who participated and make the evening such a success. A huge thanks also to the Parent's Council for their help in organising the event.

2nd Year In House Retreat

2nd Year
The 2nd years are having their in house mini Retreat on Wednesday 18th April from 9.15-12.15pm.
The cost of this Retreat was included in their stationary fee paid at the beginning of the school year. The students are free to wear their school tracksuit for the day.
