‘Bualadh bos mór’ to everyone who got involved in Lá Labhartha na Gaeilge yesterday. It was great to hear so much Gaeilge around the school. Well done to L4 who facilitated Just dance as Gaeilge in the GPA at lunchtime. It was a great success and will have us all ready for the Céilí Mór! Also a big 'maith sibh' to C4 who organised bingo as Gaeilge today. All those present had great fun! The 6th Years took part in a 'ciorcal cainte' in the GPA and made great use of the extra practice with the orals approaching! We look forward to tomorrow’s treasure hunt as Gaeilge!

Inniu Lá Labhartha na Gaeilge! Today we are encouraging everyone to use their cúpla focal...or more if they can!
At lunchtime today L4 are organising Just Dance 'as Gaeilge' in the GPA from 1-1.30. They hope that as many people as possible join in for a bit of 'ceol agus spraoi'. There will be prizes for the best effort!

The new Junior Cycle brings with it some exciting opportunities for developing the curriculum in Our Lady’s School. The introduction of Wellbeing and Short Courses at Junior Cycle creates a need for all schools to review their current provision and to plan for a changing education experience for students at Junior Cycle.
We are currently undertaking a curricular review in response to this and we will be consulting staff, students, the Board of Management and the parent body.
We invite you to complete this survey and submit by Wednesday 13th March:

Seachtain na Gaeilge in OLS begins next week. We are hoping to encourage the spoken language in school over the next few weeks. On Monday the Coiste Gaeilge will be dropping in to classes with some fun activities 'as Gaeilge'. We are having 'Lá Labhartha na Gaeilge' on Tuesday , where we will encourage everyone to practise their 'cúpla focal'. TY students will be running lunchtime activities 'as Gaeilge'. L4 are going to be getting students active and dancing on Tuesday, C4 will be doing bingo on Wednesday, B4 will have a treasure hunt on Thursday and P4 will be showing a movie on Friday. The emphasis in all cases is fun! There will be other events and competitions taking place in class time. And of course on March 22nd we will have the annual Céilí Mór so we hope you are all practising!!

Well done to the Senior Bs and their coach, Ms Hallissey, who represented OLS in their league Leinster Final today. They put in a stellar performance but unfortunately lost by a goal scored by the opposition in the final minutes of the game. We are very proud of their efforts in getting to this stage of the competition and representing us so well on the pitch. Off the pitch, well done to our Trojan supporters who played an excellent game as 12th woman!

In this this poem, the poet describes her experience of obliging a homeless man’s request for a hug. The stranger’s hug is so powerful that the experience leads her to a surprising and powerful moment of realisation, about our universal human instinct to give and receive love.
Dedicated to Ms Cantwell!
