The TY Fashion class needs your old Rubbish & second hand items. Teams are looking for the following recyclables: Coffee Pods (cleaned of coffee if possible), ring pulls from Aluminium drinks cans, old jeans & denim items, old duvets & sheets and a suit - preferably a woman's suit in a size 8-10. A poster reminding you of these items is outside Ms. Maguire's Art Room

Lizzy's Busy Weekend

Last week, the B House had a terrible scare when Lizzy the Bee was kidnapped by the L House. After much detective work and a risky rescue mission, the B House council saved Lizzy and she was returned to her rightful home. After the stress she went through the Bees decided Lizzy deserved to be spoiled for the weekend. She went on a roadtrip, had a bath followed by a spa day, enjoyed many cups of tea and got some much needed rest. You can see the pictures of her weekend below. We are delighted to report that Lizzy is now safe and well and seems to BEE back to her old self!

Another busy week for TY’s! Make sure to read till the end for next week's exciting adventure! Reps have had a busy week sprucing up the TY Noticeboard ensuring both classes and Houses are represented. They have also made signing up to events and workshops even easier with sign sheets now available on paper as well as digitally. We have been busy signing up for the Dublin Barista School Introductory Workshop, Wreath Making Workshop and the Hockey Coaching Programme. Geography classes have completed their most recent Project involving a dream exploration. Ahead of Maths week next week we have started our latest Maths Project. ‘My Dream LIfe’ where we map out and cost our dream job and life and the financial elements involved. Work Experience planning was in full swing as we completed all relevant documentation ahead of Block 1 starting Monday week the 18th October. Next week, sees our first TY Enterprise Fair of the school year, on Wednesday, where our Enterprise classes will showcase their Products. TY Enterprise class are also in full swing with the TY Hoodies, Order yours ASAP: Order Your TY Hoodie When? Monday 11th October How much? €28 Details: Available in candyfloss pink (regular shade of pink) and lavender (light purple), printed with TY Logo and personalised with your initials on the sleeve. Where? Bring EXACT CHANGE in an envelope. On the envelope please write : 1 - Your size 2 - The colour you would like 3 - Your name and class 4 - Your initials (2 letters max eg. C.K) Orders will be collected from you on Monday afternoon Please note: Hoodies can be worn for TY activities (not for PE/school) Last but by no means least all TY students will enjoy a bonding day next Thursday the 14th October. Mental Health Awareness week.

This week is Mental Health Awareness week. The Amber flag committee, which was set up in OLS to promote positive mental health in school, marked the week with their green ribbon campaign .The green ribbon is the international symbol of mental health awareness. Students received their ribbons and positive messages during Pastoral Care classes. Staff also received green ribbons. We hope that by simply wearing the ribbon we can show we care for one another and that we are a supportive, inclusive community.
Clubs Sign Up Day

Yesterday at lunch time we had our Clubs Sign Up Day out on the grit pitch at lunch time. Thankfully the weather held up and it was a huge success. We were delighted to see staff and students running their tables telling others about their clubs. Many of the clubs gained some new members and lots of questions were asked throughout the event. Well done to all who took part. Make sure to have a look at all the photos' from the day and the extracurricular timetable attached.
