3rd year parent teacher meeting - classes finish early
Created : 13 Oct 2022, 11:31 AM
Archived : 14 Oct 2022, 1:00 AM
A reminder for all that due to the parent teacher meeting this afternoon, classes will finish at 3.45pm. The meeting begins at 4.15pm and ends at 6.45pm. For 3rd year parents/guardians a further reminder that your son/daughter may accompany you to the meeting. In order to ensure the meeting runs efficiently please remember the following: * Please keep discussions with each teacher short - if a longer discussion is needed an appointment should be made for another time. * If there is a long queue to meet a teacher, consider seeing another teacher and coming back later. * Please be mindful that the meeting ends at 6.45pm - this means that teachers should be finished meeting parents at this time. Please do not join a queue that will not allow this to happen. * For 3rd, 5th and 6th year students remember that your son/daughter is invited to attend with you. Students should remain with you at all times. The parent teacher meeting is just one moment where parents can engage with teachers - teachers remain available via email, phone or appointment to discuss progress or issues as they arise. Leaving Certificate Results 2022

Congratulations to the class of 2022, who received their Leaving Certificate results this morning. The format for receiving results was slightly different again this year, with students accessing results via the self service portal rather than in school. The school also received a matrix of the overall results and I am delighted to say that the class of 2022 has excelled. Following a difficult couple of years managing the challenges of Covid-19, this group of students demonstrated tremendous resilience and maturity in their approach to the examinations. The results today are a reward for their hard work. While the points system is not relevant to many students (or a desirable way to measure their achievements) it does nonetheless allow for some general observations of the group. Almost a quarter of the students are celebrating over 500 CAO points this evening, with many over 600 (even the maximum 625!). Half of the students achieved greater than 400 points. Our Leaving Certificate Applied students are also celebrating outstanding results - almost three quarters achieving the highest possible grade. I would like to extend my thanks and congratulations to the staff of CPC for their dedication to this group and special word of congratulations to the parents/guardians and families of the class of 2022 - your support and guidance has been key. To those receiving results today, remember that we are here to support you in the coming days and weeks if you need any advice. Information continues to be shared via the school app or under the News section on cpckilcullen.com
