IMPORTANT REMINDER Candidate Self Service Portal will close at 5pm Friday 11th February

In 2021, the State Examinations Commission (SEC), as part of its digital strategy, introduced the Candidate Self Service Portal (CSSP) as a one-stop-shop for a range on online services for Leaving Certificate candidates. The CSSP will be used again for the 2022 Leaving Certificate so that candidates can confirm their examination entry details and access other services such as results and appeals. The portal opened at 12 noon on Thursday 3 February for candidates to confirm their subject entries and levels. It will remain open for this purpose until 5pm on Friday 11 February. I have been asked to advise parents and students that it is essential that they register through the Portal as this Portal will provide students with the opportunity to confirm their subject choice and levels, to also allow future access to their results and for the later stages of the process such as the appeals application process. Click here to login CSSP 2022 www.examinations.ie/cssp/2022/ There is helpdesk support available at 1800-111135 or 1800-111136 between 9am to 5pm until Friday 11 February. Outside of these hours you can email candidateportal@examinations.ie

"As part of our Safer Internet Day Campaign we set up a poster competition for students in 1st and 2nd year. The students were asked to design posters to raise awareness of digital footprint and online safety. We received some very colourful and creative submissions which are displayed on the Student Council Noticeboard. Well done to everyone who entered and a big congratulations to our prizewinners, Lucy Curtis in 1F and Orlaith McCormack in 2B who received gift hampers organised by our SID team."
6th year Mock examinations

Dear students, parents and guardians, as you know, mock examinations will get under way from Monday 7th for 6th years. The purpose of the mock examination is to give understanding to students of the areas that they are proficient in and also the areas that will need greater focus before the June examinations. It also prepares students for the experience of sitting the exams and so we try to recreate the same conditions that students will experience in June. Please find attached a Conduct of Students During Exams document that outlines the expectations during the mocks and June exams. Students should only attend school when they have an exam, including on Monday 7th and 14th when Leaving Certificate Established oral exams take place. Students should only attend for their oral exam on these days. Leaving Certificate Applied exams take place from 7th-11th February, Leaving Certificate Establishes exams run from 7th-18th February. In a follow up message I will attach timetables for both. Thank you to all parents/guardians who have paid the mock exam expense. If you haven't yet paid this expense could I ask that it be paid as soon as possible to ensure timely correction. The very best of luck to all of our students over the coming weeks - do your best and remember there is time to improve after the mocks. Kind regards J Leonard

March 21st - no school

Dear students, parents and guardians, as you know the government has agreed to designate a once-off public holiday on Friday 18 March 2022 in recognition of the efforts of the general public, volunteers and all workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in remembrance of people who lost their lives due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new public holiday will be followed by a day of remembrance and recognition to take place over St Patrick’s weekend. From next year there will be a new permanent public holiday established in celebration of Imbolc/St Brigid’s Day. This will be the first Monday in every February, except where St. Brigid’s Day, the 1st day of February, happens to fall on a Friday, in which case that Friday 1 February will be a public holiday. As per the school calendar the 18th March was already a non school day and so another day can be taken in lieu. At the last Board of Management meeting, having looked closely at our calendar, the Board approved March 21st as this day in lieu for the following reasons: *the further we get into this year, the more difficult it becomes to nominate an unscheduled 'day off' due to examinations, project deadlines etc. *the school community will benefit from a significant break that weekend rather than further disruption at a different date *there is sufficient time to give the school community fair notice of the additional day I hope everybody will enjoy that long weekend. Kind regards J Leonard
