We were delighted to welcome grandparents and Seniors in our community to our Seniors Christmas Party. Our Sixth Year students hosted the event along with the Religious Education Department, supported by the Home Economics and Music Departments. We had a lovely morning of chat, music, raffle prize winners and even a visit from Santa and his elves! Our sincere thanks to Georga Dowling of Food School for decorating the hall, Fallons for the loan of their cups and saucers, Kildare Farm Foods for the loan of their elf costumes and Brian Byrne for the beautiful photos which may be accessed here tinyurl.com/25nxpwnn

It is a lovely cross curricular event as the school community work together. We are so happy to have this very significant intergenerational experience as it provides a great opportunity to further build positive relationships which are central to our school ethos.

Kilcullen GAA Lights Up 2024 and Every Step Counts start tonight!
Created : 08 Jan 2024, 12:28 PM

Information from Kilcullen GAA:

Kilcullen GAA Lights Up 2024 walk starts tonight 08-January 8pm to 9pm for 6 weeks to 12-February-2024, in partnership with RTE's Operation Transformation and Get Ireland walking. Registration will start at 7.50pm, warmup at 7.55pm and the walk starts at 8pm sharp, from the Kilcullen GAA training pitch across from the Astro pitch. RTE cameras will be filming at the first of the Kilcullen GAA Lights Up walk event, they will be there to do a sequence for the Operation Transformation show, on which Kilcullen's Noel O'Connell is a leader, so would be great to have a good attendance out walking / running to support Noel.

Also The Irish Life GAA “Every Step Counts” Challenge is back and  will run for 5 weeks from Monday 08-January to 12-February-2024. Last year Kilcullen GAA and Community completed the My Life Challenge 2023, in 6th place in Leinster with 34,638 steps from 193 participants in 5 weeks which was amazing. Finishing 6th from over 200 clubs competing in Leinster and the NO 1 walking club in Kildare was brilliant last year and we are hoping to finish in the top 5 this year with over 200 participants and break 40,000 steps. To join the challenge, follow the steps below:
1. Download the free MyLife app from GooglePlay /Apple App Store 2. Tap on the social tab on the MyLife App 3. Select challenges 4. Select the challenge for Leinster 5. Tap on Join & Select “Kilcullen GAA”

No doubt many of the CPC community will be involved - the best of luck to everyone!
