The Parents' Association of CPC currently include the following members: Kate Steed (Chairperson), Lindsay Bermingham (Secretary), Sinead Forde (Treasurer), Anthony McNamee, Wendy English, Simone Walsh, Brian Conroy, Warren Kelly, Sinead Pullen, Frank & Jill De Azevedo, Iseult O’Donoghue Dairiena O'Brien, Morgan Rusk, Carol Griffith. The PA is also joined at meetings by the principal and teacher representatives. We are currently organising our next fundraising events including a Christmas tree collection on 7th of January and another clothes collection on 21st January. If anyone has use of a van or trailer and would like to help with the tree collection on 7th January please let us know on crossandpassionpa@gmail.com If any parent or guardian would like to join the PA or just offer help for a specific fundraising event please do contact us on crossandpassionpa@gmail.com We would also encourage anybody with their own fundraising ideas to make contact with the PA. All monies raised go directly into providing extra resources that benefit the students. In the past this has included bursaries for students, supporting the work of the student council and providing refreshments at events including the chips at the TY musical. While the PA is involved in fundraising we also provide feedback to the school and help with the future strategic planning within the school. In the new year we would be interested in organising outside speakers to address the parents/guardians on topics that people express an interest in, be that internet safety, helping your child deal with anxiety etc. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who makes such an effort to support the school and pupils both now and in the past and looking forward to meeting more of you in the future. Kate Steed (Chairperson)

4B had a fantastic day learning about our emigration and sporting history when they visited both the Epic and GAA Museums. The Epic Museum had a wide range of interactive activities where they had the opportunity to learn about the amazing contributions made by Irish people and those of Irish descent throughout the world in a variety of disciplines such as music, medicine and politics. Our guide Aaron in Croke Park gave us a comprehensive insight to the workings of the GAA and we saw the impressive facilities our national sport uses at the third biggest stadium in Europe!

We are pleased to offer parents and guardians a chance to join Rainbows on zoom to learn more about the great work they do. There is a plan in place to get Rainbows up and running in the school in the very near future,. We will keep you posted. Rainbows are offering free introductory sessions to parents and guardians. The session aims to tell you about the Rainbows programmes, how they work and how they can support your son/daughter in advance of your son or daughter attending. It is an informal welcoming space to listen – no pressure to speak – questions can be asked at any time. The focus of every session is on children/young people and is not on adult issues. It explores how children of different ages and stages of development can be affected by what has happened, highlighting what is normal and how attending the programme can help. Many parents and guardians have attended to date and have indicated how helpful it has been.
