St Vincent de Paul Food Appeal

IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR PARENTS, STAFF & STUDENTS:
We have started our annual food drive in aid of the St Vincent de Paul.
Please bring all non-perishable food items to the Sacristy beside the College Chapel during tutor time every morning.
ABOUT THE FOOD APPEAL:
You can help people in need in your community this Christmas by supporting the SVP Christmas Food Appeal and donating non-perishable festive food items to help families and individuals enjoy an extra-special Christmas meal.
GUIDELINES:
Please ensure that all food items are non-perishable
Please ensure that all food items have an expiry date well into 2019

Dear Parent/Guardian, Further details have been made available about the funeral of our dear friend and colleague Ms Kellie Leonard which will take place on Monday February 4th. As a mark of respect the school will remain closed on Monday. We would like to thank you for the kind messages of support and sympathy expressed during this sad time. May she Rest In Peace. School will reopen Tuesday morning at 8:55am.
Summerhill College Christmas Concert

Summerhill College Christmas Concert will take place on Monday December 10th at 7 30pm in the GP area. This will be an informal evening to celebrate the talented musicians we have in the College. All are welcome. No tickets are required but donations will be gratefully accepted at the door. Please join us for what promises to be an evening of festive fun and musical delights.

After School Study now starts at 4.05pm and finishes at 7.05pm Monday to Thursday. Friday start time is 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
Up to 1st hour = €2,

The parent teacher meeting for 5th Years and LCA's will take place next Wednesday January 9th from 4:15pm-6:45pm in the college gym. School will finish at 3:40pm to facilitate this meeting. Thank You.

Times and dates for Sailing course November 22&23rd

Dear Parent/Guardian,
We had a meeting for students in Tuesday to sort the groups for this week's sailing out. We are running two days of training this week. Thursday and Friday. We will start at 9am sharp and finish at 12.30pm and go for the afternoon sessions from 1.30pm to 5 pm to make the best use of available light. If you have any questions about which session your son is in then please email dbrennan@summerhillcollege.ie and I'll forward the list. Forecast is looking good.

Senior Rugby Game vs Sligo Grammar School

Summerhill College senior rugby team will play Sligo Grammar School on Thursday at 3pm in the Grammar School grounds.
Only students who have purchased a ticket to the game will be allowed to attend.
Any Senior Cycle student who wishes to go to the Grammar game on Thursday can purchase a ticket from Ms Mc Canns' office on Wednesday at break time and lunch time.
To purchase a ticket you will need a note in your journal from your parent/ guardian giving you permission to attend the game.
The cost of the ticket is €5 with all proceeds going to Pieta House.
Students must return to class after lunch on Thursday and use their ticket to sign out by showing their ticket to their class teacher at that time and getting the teacher to sign their ticket.
Mr Keogh will be checking tickets at the entrance to the game.
