This week all of our 2nd Year students took part in anti-bullying workshops as part of the schools anti-bullying programme. These workshops are facilitated by the school in collaboration with the Home Youth Liaison Service. Students took part in a survey about bullying behaviour and the results were examined with them as part of the workshops as well as looking at the different types of bullying and how bullying is dealt with in our school. Parents are advised to read through the schools anti-bullying code with their child which is on pages 27 and 28 of the school journal. The schools anti-bullying policy is available on the school website. Reports of bullying can be made to any member of staff or through the Report Bullying tool on the school website. Many thanks to Michael Yewlett from the HYLS for facilitating these workshops this week. Workshops will be put on for 1st Year students next term

Students took part in a variety of activities and discovered what type of mindset they currently have. Parents are encouraged to discuss their childs result with them and to read the booklet attached to find out how they can help their child to develop a Growth Mindset! All of our 3rd year class groups had the opportunity to go on retreat during the month of October to Ballintubber Co. Mayo. Classes headed off with their tutor and the chaplain to take part in a special day away from normal school life. Students took part in workshops about self-esteem and got to practice meditation as well as getting out in the fresh country air to walk part of the Tochar pilgrim path. Students really enjoyed learning about the abbey from Fr Frank and having a day away to bond as a class and reflect on their faith journey.
