It was an honour to welcome @jakecartermusic to BCS today, who held a concert for our students and gave them an insight into the music business. It was great fun, the students and staff really enjoyed it and Jake was kind and took many pictures with our students. We would like to thank Jake for a brilliant day, and wish him all the success with his new single.

The boys East Munster Track & Field event will take place in Templemore next Thursday 12th May. Anyone wishing to compete please contact Ms.Lineen via Teams to confirm date of birth and the events you want to compete in. Closing date is 6pm tomorrow Friday 6th - no late entries will be accepted.

The East Munster Schools Track and Field competition took place today for the girls at the RSC. Huge congratulations to Maya Rossa who took gold in the Minor Shot Putt and Junior Javelin Eimear Meaney who also took gold in the Junior Girls long jump Charlotte Norman who took gold in the 1500m Minor girls. Best of luck to all who have qualified for the Munster Schools competition which will be held in Templemore on Saturday 21st May. Next up is the East Munster Boys event which is on next Thursday 12th in Templemore. Well done to all involved today!!

This Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at Lunch time TY’s will be situated around the school with three jars. It is your job to guess the number of items in each jar. To guess the amount in 1 jar will be .50c and to have a guess in all 3 will be €1. Closest guess for each jar will win a great prize. All in aid of the Irish Air Ambulance.

Waterford Schools track & field event took place today at the RSC. Blackwater CS athletes had a fantastic day with some notable individual and team performances. Minor girls Maya Rossa - 1st in shot putt and discus Lena Kowalcze - 3rd in discus Junior girls Eimear Meaney - 3rd in 100m and 1st in long jump Siún Mernin - 3rd in javelin Junior boys Cathal Barry - 3rd in 800m Fionn Shurmann - 1st in long jump Intermediate girls Neesha Whelan - 3rd in 800m Eimear Griffin - 2nd in 1500m Relay Team - 3rd Intermediate Boys Micheál McCarthy - 3rd in shot putt Senior Boys Stephen Roche - 2nd in shot putt A really brilliant day - well done to you all who competed!!

Is there a student or member of staff who has gone out of their way to show you kindness or to help you out this year? Would you like to repay that kindness? If so why not nominate them by sending their name, class (if they are a student), and a brief explanation of why you are nominating them to Mr. McCarthy or Mr. Murphy by email (see picture) or on Teams.
