Saturday 26th September was European Day of Languages, a day to acknowledge and appreciate the rich diversity of languages we have in Europe. Indeed, there are over 200 European languages. We at Dominican College recognise the many benefits of language learning. As a means of celebrating the linguistic competencies of our student body, a 2nd Year French class participated in a number of fun activities: they created a short video, with each student wishing the audience a happy European Day of Languages in their respective native languages; they also organised a European food tasting event, where each student prepared a traditional dish from the European country of their choice. The girls greatly enjoyed learning more about their classmates’ cultural and language backgrounds.
