Jesse Jacob from Self-Help Africa gave a workshop to 30 students from 1st to 5th year Alive members on the issue of Gender Equality. The afternoon was incredibly interesting and eye-opening. Everyone who took part really enjoyed it.
School Bank

The transition years opened their school bank last Friday. The bank will be open every second Friday. It is run on behalf of Bank of Ireland. The first hundred pupils who open accounts will receive a ticket to a Leinster rugby match this year. All the winners from other schools will also be at the match so there will be a great atmosphere!

We were delighted to have renowned author 'Sarah Crossan' visit St Thomas' Library on Friday the 23rd of January to host a workshop on creative writing and exploring poetry to the first and second year students. Sarah also engaged in a questions and answers session with the students about her latest book 'Apple and Rain'.

The Green Schools Committee held a COW/WOW on Wed 21st January. These days are designed to encourage as many students and staff as possible to WalkOnWednesday (WOW) or Cycle on Wednesday (COW). Green school committee members had an early start giving out small treats to people who chose to WOW or COW. Well done and thanks to all involved.
