Our senior hurlers drew with De La Salle in the Waterford Colleges senior final in Waterford today on a finishing score of 0 -11 to 1- 8
BT Young Scientist Experience in Waterford

TY students recently presented their projects and discussed their BT young scientist experience with students from various different Waterford schools. They attended Waterford Teachers Centre on Thursday 14th April to stimulate interest in other students to enter the BT Young Scientist competition held in the RDS every year in January. Certificates were awarded for participation in the day by Waterford teachers centre director Celia Walsh and Dr. Wayne Cummins from WIT.

Congratulations to all athletes who competed today in the RSC in Waterford in some challenging conditions - the hailstones were very big! Some fantastic results for the athletes with the following coming home with some silverware! Aoife Kennedy 2nd 1500m (Junior girls) Conor Mullany 2nd 1500m (Junior boys) Sarah Mulcahy 3rd 1500m (inter/Sen girls) Jenny Barry 3rd 100m (Senior girls) Claire Murphy 2nd and Marie McCarthy 3rd in High Jump (Inter/Sen girls) Eoin McGrath 3rd 400m (Inter/Sen boys) Senior girls 3rd in relay. There were some very close finishes today, just narrowly missing out on a medal. Well done to you all! East Munster Girls championships will take place next Wednesday in the RSC. The entry forms for this must be completed by Friday so please let Ms. Lineen know which 2 events you wish to take part in for this competition asap!! The TY Year group have had 3 days of intense physical activity in Castletownroche. Rather than facing a situation where there is very poor attendance, we have decided that it"s best for students to stay at home on Thursday 28th and attend school on Friday 29th. Many thanks.
5th Year Trip to Dunmore East

Fifth year Religious Education students became the first school group in Ireland to visit the Amish/Mennonite Community in Dunmore East last Thursday. The Christian Fellowship of Dunmore East, Co. Waterford, Ireland’s only Amish-Mennonite community, is 75 people strong. It was founded in 1992 by William McGrath, an Irish American who converted to the Mennonite branch of Christianity after fighting in WWII and went on to establish Mennonite churches around the world, including in the homeland of his ancestors. Community leaders Daniel and Wesley welcomed the group and spoke to the group about their Irish Foundation, the history of the Community worldwide and their plans for the future. We saw their school and community centre and had the opportunity to ask questions. Pupils from their school kindly entertained our group with their distinctive plain chant singing. Thanks to Ms Smyth, Ms Dillon, Phil and Martina for bringing the Amish/Mennonite Community alive for us through this trip.
