Well done and congratulations to 6th year student Michael McGrath who has just returned from Canada after completing in the JM4x A final on Sunday. They finished 4th in the world.
Having qualified through the heats, They then just pipped a very strong Hungarian crew in the Semi Final by 0.4 of a second to qualify for the A Final. The primary goal was to get into an A Final which they did. Finishing 4th in the world was an exceptional result considering most of the crews train together all year and compete at other international events throughout the year.
Fergie Hannon (Athlone Rowing Club), under the guidance of Antonio Maurogiovanni (High Performance Director - Rowing Ireland) coached this crew in preparation for this championship.
