St. Macartan's College Third Year student Eoghan McGinnity won the All Ireland 40 x 20 Junior Singles title at Kingscourt Handball Club today Saturday. After an excellent semi final victory, Eoghan stepped up a gear in the final where he faced the formidable Dean Drennan from Kilkenny CBS. This was a rematch of the 60 x 30 final played before Christmas in Wexford which was won by the Kilkenny CBS student inn a three game thriller. After a slow start in the first game, Eoghan took the initiative soon after seeing himself go five points down . The first game saw Eoghan emerge victorious with four to spare after a superb display of accurate serving and pass shots. Game two saw the Sem's representative take an early lead which he was to hold until the end. This is the Sem's first All Ireland handball title since Darren Doherty's senior singles win some six years ago. Eoghan was presented with his first Colleges All Ireland ,medal by president of GAA Handball Ireland Joe Masterson.

Monaghan Harps Handball Club member Eoghan McGinnity will play Kilkenny's Billy Drennan in the All Ireland 40 x20 Junior Singles Handball final at Kingscourt at 2.30 pm today. Both players came through their ealy morning
semi finals unscathed and face off in a repeat of this year's Junior Colleges' 60 x 30 final.
