Huge congratulations to both the Junior and Senior Irish debating teams who took part in Gael Linn’s ‘Comórtas Díospóireachta an Phiarsaigh’.
The Junior Team (Ailbhe Quinlan, Caitlín Walsh & Isabella Fagan - 3rd Year) spoke against the motion ‘Ba cheart dúinn fáil réidh le ham coigilte sholas an lae!’
While the Senior Team (Lorna Doherty, Beth Sweeney & Shóna Fitzpatrick - 5th Year) argued in favour of the motion ‘Tugaimid aire mhaith dár seanóirí in Éirinn’.
Both teams have progressed to the next round of the competition.
Climbing the walls with TY

TY students took their first steps in a vertical world as they visited The Wall in Sandyford. The girls had great fun scaling Dublin’s biggest bouldering wall with over 1000 square metres of climbing surface with a wide range of angles and features.

“The Arts Committee thoroughly enjoyed hosting a “Spooky Story” image competition at lunchtime. The turnout was amazing and some of the entries were super scary to get us all in the Halloween mood.”

Well done to 1st and 2nd years who participated in the Junior Schools debating competition last night in UCD. All the girls engaged well with their respective arguments and represented themselves and their school with confidence and pride.

Well done to Maria Syed and Penelope Harrison from 2nd year who competed in the Matheson Ormsby Junior Mace Debate in Belvedere college on Saturday.
Congratulations to our senior debate teams who participated in the Leinster schools debate competition in UCD on Tuesday 2nd October. Our 5th year students came third and both teams engaged well with the motion:

TY Gaisce Hike

TY students journeyed to Carne Co. Wexford last Friday to complete an adventure journey as part of their Gaisce Bronze award. They planned, trained for and completed a 25Km hike along the seafront as part of a team! The Adventure Journey was a unique, challenging and memorable experience, which gave the students the opportunity to experience self-sufficiency.

Hospice Coffee Morning

Transition Year students organised a Hospice Coffee Morning on Thursday 13th September. Thank to all for your support; we raised just over €900 which will help with the fantastic work carried out by the hospice movement. All the girls did great work & it was lovely to see familiar faces of former colleagues from years gone by.

The award for top results in Junior Certificate 2018 was presented to Palakshi Rattan and Amy Lawrence. The Leaving Certificate 2018 award was won by Jaslin Joy. Jaslin is currently studying Medicine at UCD.
