We have been notified that our 5th year students will return to school on Monday, March 15th. An assembly will be arranged for those students closer to that date. Please see the previous app notifications for communication from the Minister of Education for more details for all year groups: letter (24th February) and Press Release (23rd February)
Meanwhile all of our students continue with on-line learning. This is a mix of live on-line classes and recorded classes following the established timetable.
Finally, we wish our entire school community the very best of health and wellbeing.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome back to the second half of Term 2. Thank you for your recent feedback in the February survey.
Consequently, from tomorrow TUESDAY, 23rd February, we are going to amend our school day timetable while we are in remote school.

10 minute break (minimum) between each class
25 minute morning break
60 minutes Lunch hour
Class 1: 8.45am-9.35 (10 minute break before Class 2)
Class 2: 9.45am-10.35
Break: 10.35am-11.00 (25 minutes- fresh air and screen time break)
Class 3: 11.00am-11.50 (10 minute break before Class 4)
Class 4: 12.00pm-12.50
Lunch hour 12.50pm- 1.50pm (one hour for fresh air and screen time break)
Class 5: 1.50pm-2.40pm (10 minute break before Class 6)
Class 6: 2.50pm -3.40pm
For LIVE classes: Microphones – All students' microphones must be on and working for live classes. If there are any issues at all please contact reception@holyfamily.ie
Cameras- will now be switched on as the norm for live classes. This is at the subject teacher's discretion. Students who have any technical issues with cameras for camera-on classes need to keep in contact with the subject teacher.
We hope that this improves our students' experience of remote school.
A reminder that if any student needs additional support, our school counsellors are available and can be contacted via reception@holyfamily.ie

A special congratulations to the TY students who participated in our 'What's in the Fridge?' challenge.
They were asked to plan and make a breakfast, lunch or dinner using the resources they had available to them. They also researched food waste in Ireland to find out how they could plan use up leftovers to make their dishes. They displayed excellent creativity and innovative ways to combat food waste and make the most of resources they already had.
Reminder to all students that you can enter pictures of your baking/cooking/sewing in the ATHE Déanta le Grá competition. Swipe for more details on how to enter.

Did you know that the Catholic Fête de La Chandeleur (Candlemas) takes place on the 2nd of February in France...
Atelier de cuisine: Les crêpes avec Mallaury !
Some of our TY students from Ms. G. Byrne and Ms. Lloyd's French classes made some delicious crêpes in an online live workshop, following instructions and a recipe in French.
Well done to all involved and a special 'Merci' to Mallaury, our French assistant, for organising and facilitating the workshop!
