Leaving Cert 'Anything but a bag day' 2024
Our school captain Chloe Martin together with the incoming school captain Laura-Jane Kaye made a farewell presentation at the annual school awards' ceremony yesterday. They presented a gift of thanks on behalf of all the HFSS students to Ms Mackell (Career Guidance & Science) and our receptionist Siobhan Hughes who will both retire this year from the Holy Family.
A huge congratulations
to 5th year students Sarah Moran and Katelyn Dennehy, who competed in the first ever Miss Ireland Teen competition. The girls took part in various workshops and rehearsals leading up to the final on May 4th, when they underwent a challenging process that tested their skills in debating and public speaking, and their involvement in charity work, modelling, sports, and talent sections. Katelyn won the talent section with a lyrical dance and Sarah Moran was crowned Miss Ireland Teen 2024. As part of the ‘Teens for change’ initiative, Sarah will now be involved in events and charity work with Miss Ireland and Miss Universe Ireland, as well as being invited to be an ambassador for The Hope Foundation. All here in Holy Family wish you the very best of luck Sarah. Well done to both girls, you have done yourselves proud, as well as your families and your wider communities
We were delighted to have the Newbridge Parish Novena icon in school this week. The icon is dedicated to Mary, our Heavenly Mother.
The history and place of the Holy Family Secondary School in the wider context of the local community, and parish, will be celebrated at the Novena to Our Lady Of Perpetual Help, on Monday, 20th May at 7pm in St. Conleth's Parish Church.
Further details about the Novena and the icon can be read on the Parish website at https://newbridgeparish.ie/news/novena-of-perpetual-help
