Third Year Students NOT going on the Junior Tour

There are highly unusual times .
Next week , the combination of teachers going on the Tour and rising Covid numbers amongst staff and students means that we cannot provide classes for those students NOT going on the Tour. Therefore it is with profound regret that we have to ask Third Year students not going on the Junior Tour to remain out of school for the duration of this Tour. However, Third Year students who do wish to come in and study in the school are welcome to do so.

Masks

Recent sharp increases in Covid in the school and wider community result in us strongly encouraging you to advise your child to wear his/her mask in the school from tomorrow morning. We are well aware of current guidelines but we also want to protect those in our community and their families. It is disappointing to have to make this request as we had hoped that Covid was going away but hopefully this is just one more temporary measure.
In particular we would hope that exam students would take our advice on board. We are entering exam season and Orals are the next item in the calendar for sixth years. Many third years are also due to travel on a school tour very shortly.
The decision to make this request has not been taken lightly and the recent return to a maskless normality has been wonderful to see and hopefully that can continue in the very near future.

Hard luck to our U15 boys who were beaten today in the second round of the Russell Cup against the Green CBS Tralee on a scoreline of 5-10 to 3- 8. A spirited second half display saw us move to within 4 points but it was not to be on this occasion.
