Stop Child to Parent Violence
For families where Young People are violent / abusive towards their parents / carers
You are invited to join a group programme for parents who experience Child to Parent Violence. It is called the Non Violent Resistance Programme (NVR). This programme is being delivered by Kildare Youth Services. Kildare Youth Services have identified a significant number of parents who are experiencing Child to Parent Violence.
How does the NVR programme support parents to stop the violence perpetrated by their child?
● It rebuilds parents/carers confidence in their parenting skills
● It helps parents/carers to resist the child’s violence while building on positive elements of the relationship.
● It invites the child to come up with solutions to the problem of aggression and violent behaviour
● It lifts the veil of silence around the violence
The Programme
The programme runs over 9 weeks. You will attend a group for 2 hours once a week. Everyone in the group will be experiencing some form of Child to Parent Violence.

Dear Parent Guardian,
We have commenced using the electronic sign in facility of our school app. This system will significantly strengthen our Child Protection Safeguards.
How it works?
Where your student is late for school they sign in at the school office. You will then receive a personal notification through the school app almost immediately to inform you that your student has signed in. This requires no further action where you have submitted a late note on the app.
However, further action is required where you have not explained the reason for your student's late arrival to school using the late note facility on the app. In this instance, you will be requested to complete a late note approval. This can be found in the Attention Please tab on the app. The Attention Please tab is on the bottom right hand corner on the News/Notification page. All outstanding requests will remain in this tab until actioned by you and you may receive ongoing reminders until actioned.
We will send out a helpsheet to further explain this process.
Please encourage your student to be punctual and to attend for the full duration of each school day.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
JP Cahillane
Dear Parent/Guardian/Student,
Just a gentle reminder that our school is closed for students tomorrow Thursday 16th November. This is for area teacher training by JCT/Oide as posted on our school calendar since September. Students should use this opportunity to revise for their upcoming November Assessments. School will be open for all on Friday morning.
Kind regards,
JP Cahillane
Dear Parents and Guardians,
A reminder that the Parents' Association AGM takes place this Wednesday 15th November:
In the spirit of new beginnings, we would like to invite all parents to our annual meeting which this year will welcome our new principal and explore the central role of parents and guardians in our school community. The meeting will take place on Wednesday 15th November from 8 to 9pm.
Kind regards,

Dear 6th yr students and Parents/Guardians,
A reminder that all 6th yr students will travel by bus from school on Thursday 21st September to the Higher Options - college, plc and training fair in the RDS, Dublin. In addition, we will also attend the World Skills Fair which is a showcase of Apprenticeships and apprentice skills.
Payment for Higher Options and transport costs are included in the 6th yr school contribution- so please ensure your 6th yr student's contribution has been made. Please ensure your son/daughter attends next Thursday as tickets and buses have been paid for.
Students will have the opportunity to attend talks and to speak with college representatives and have their questions about courses and colleges and training opportunities answered. Students will not get another opportunity like this to speak to a lot of college representatives in one place.
Please prepare with your 6th yr student in advance so they get the best out of the day. This is a very useful day for students to help with their college/training course choices.
Details of the events including maps of the event and lists of talks can be seen on www.higheroptions.irishtimes.com
and worldskillsireland.ie. (The talks list has been posted on the 6thyr information team also. Students should decide in advance which talks to attend.)
Students will wear full school uniform and are advised to bring a packed lunch with them. We will aim to be in time back for buses but students should make alternative arrangements in case of traffic delays.
The Guidance Team.
