Some images from our Open Evening on Wednesday 23rd October. A gigantic thank you to all our teachers and students for their trojan effort in preparing the various displays. Thank you to all the students that helped out during this event - their various talents shone through. We also wish to thank all of our visitors. We hope you got the vibe of what our school is about and the opportunities that are available to our students. We wish all our students, teachers and parents/guardians a restful midterm break.
Bug Hotel

Some members of Ms Healy's TY Biology class with the Bug Hotel that they constructed. The Bug hotel should give bugs somewhere to make a home for the winter and helps to encourage more biodiversity to our school area.

Applications for First Year 2020-2021

A member of our school community will be visiting all our feeder primary schools in the coming week. Application Forms will be distributed to the students of Sixth Class in each school. Application forms are also available from our school office. As you may be aware places are limited. We are encouraging parents/guardians with children in Sixth Class that currently have siblings in our school to complete and return the application form as soon as possible but no later than 12noon on Friday 25th October. All applications after this time will be deemed a "late application". Submitting an application form does not guarantee a place. We encourage you to read our Admissions Policy - available on our school website www.scoilmhuireclane.ie

Athletics training has been moved to Thursday this week due to the Open Night. Training starts at 4pm on the track, all welcome.
Scoil Mhuire Sponsorship Cards

Dear Parent / Guardian, We have been made aware that young people are going around with sponsorship cards for Scoil Mhuire Arts & Crafts. These sponsorship cards are not from our school. Please see a picture of our cards below. We have a permit from the Gardai. While these cards may be from another school we would encourage you to report it to the Gardai if you are suspicious. Thank you for all your support of our school.

The pictures show: Junior and Senior students making St. Brigid's crosses as part of their work towards achieving a John Paul 2 award. The inspirational Joanne O'Riordan shares her experience with our 6th Years. Our First Years hold up their various tokens that represent their talents or area of interest in their lives at our Welcome Mass for First Years. Some Sixth Years at Higher Options seeking career advice. Fr Peter McVerry speaks to our senior students on the challenges of homelessness. Niall McNamee spoke about the dangers of excessive gambling. Finally some of our highest achievers from the Leaving Cert class of 2019 returned to pass on some advice to our current Sixth Years.
