Our U-14 Boys were lucky to have the opportunity to participate in a national gaelic football blitz just before Covid 19 put a halt to such activities. The Super Blitz was a joint venture between Sky Sports and GAA Croke Park. The event took place at the wonderful facilities at Abbotstown. The boys played in mixed teams with boys from schools throughout the country. This was an excellent experience for all concerned. Our boys were fortunate to get a few pictures with some GAA Stars. Thanks to Mr Carbury and Mr McHugh for accompanying the lads.

Dear parent/guardian, We hope this message finds you well! Could we ask you to encourage your student to download our school App from either the Play Store or App Store. This will enable us to communicate directly with them. You will receive the message also but this should take away some of the responsibility of delivering the communication to your student. We would encourage you to still check that they received the message. Students must use their school email address. Take care of yourselves!

Online behaviour

This is related to our recent post in relation to Anti-Bullying Week. Unfortunately we must highlight the issue of photographs on student profiles on the various platforms associated with our school. It has been brought to our attention that some students are using another student's photograph as their profile icon. This is inappropriate even with the person's permission. Other people can then see these photos. Where consent is not freely given this is bullying. Posting something inappropriate online once is deemed bullying as it can be reused or misused by others. We are asking you to speak to your student about this behaviour and to encourage them to post their own photo if they deem that a profile photo is necessary. We will be monitoring the platforms associated with our school. Apologies for posting after 9pm.

Forgive us for not replying individually to you! Unfortunately a very small number of students are encountering difficulties logging in to Office 365. Please feel free to send us a message via "Parent Note" on this App. Once back in the school on Wednesday we will assist you. If your student does not know their password by Monday afternoon please send in a request for a new one. Please do not request a password change where your student can access Office 365. The "passwords" comprise of three letters followed by five numbers, the first letter being a capital letter e.g. Abc12345 If Office 365 is asking for the password to be changed or saying it is out of date please ensure it is being entered in the format as above. Where you have difficulty accessing Office 365 please try to access it through our school website. If your password has been working recently there is no need to request a change. We will continue to send previously requested (before 1pm Friday ) new passwords through the App today. Any new requests will be addressed on Wednesday morning after the scheduled school closure for St. Patrick's Day. Teachers are not expected to post any new information over this weekend. We will keep you updated as we receive information from the Department of Education & Skills. Take care of yourselves and your families.
Anti_Bullying Week

As this week is Anti-Bullying Week, the Amber Flag Committee have been working to create awareness among students as part of the Pieta House Amber Flag Initiative. Throughout the course of Anti-Bullying Week, the committee held talks and workshops, table quizzes, gave information and many facts about bullying and sold orange wrist bands with all proceeds going towards Pieta House. The committee are also running an Anti-Bullying poster competition. The prizes for the winners of this competition are a €25 voucher for 1st place and a €15 voucher for 2nd and 3rd place. All winners will be featured in the yearbook. The deadline for the competition will be extended until the school returns from the current health crisis. We recommend that parents/guardians talk to their students and discuss any problems in school. Students are always welcome to speak to a teacher about any concerns they may have and/or put a notice in our new Amber Flag suggestion/worry box that is now in the front hall of the school. Amber Flag Committee 2020 #bekind A special thank you to Ms Stanley, Ms McMahon and the committee. An anti-bullying survey of all students will be conducted when we return to school. www.pieta.ie/how-we-can-help/prevention-programmes/amber-flag-initiative/ www.herostartswithher.com/team-hero
