Healthy Hearts

The individual results for the Healthy Hearts Healthy Lives Heart Screening that took place earlier this month will be posted out to each student that availed of the service in early January.
Should there be a need for a follow-on ECG/consultation, they will also be arranged within the next month.

These students showed strengths in many different areas for example, excellent record of work, continually making a great
effort, great improvement in work, excellent attendance, great improvement in behaviour, significant contribution to school or community and many other reasons.

Many thanks to all staff and students who supported our Christmas Jumper Rag Day today in aid of St. Vincent de Paul Naas. The school raised €2,087 today for this charity. Many thanks to Ms Kathryna Phibbs and the prefects involved in organising this event for today.

Our Junior debaters took part in a debate against St Mary's today. Captain Piotr Filipek, Luke Morelis & Evan Dalton were involved in this debate.
Speaker of the debate was awarded to Evan Dalton.
Well done to all involved and to Ms Phibbs for her work with this team.
Visit to Clover Hill Prison

Class 4E had a very educational and enjoyable visit to Clover Hill Prison yesterday.

Institute of Biology of Ireland Award

Congratulations to Matthew Hartnett who received an award from The Institute of Biology of Ireland for achieving the highest result in Leaving Certificate Biology. Matthew got 100% in the Biology Leaving Certificate paper. He received the Institute of Biology Medal of Excellence and his teacher Ms. Anita Hassett received a teacher commendation certificate for excellence in her teaching of Leaving Certificate Biology. Matthew is now studying Medicine in University College Dublin. We wish Matthew every success in his future career.
Present on the night were Matthew's family, Biology teacher Ms. Hassett, Ben Travers (Principal), Leo Murphy and Sharon Power (Deputy Principals)
Visit to Craddockstown Nursing Home

Today the 2nd and 5th year Music classes visited Craddockstown nursing home to spread some festive cheer and sing carols with the residents and their families.
Thank you so much to the staff and residents for being so welcoming and friendly. It absolutely lightened up our morning and we look forward to going back there again soon.
