Higher Options Event 6th Yr Students - Oct 13th

Please see attached important information regarding the Higher Options Virtual expo on October 13th which our 6th Year students will ‘attend’. We are allowing our 6th Years to work from home that morning (Wednesday 13th) as the event begins at 12.00 and does not conclude until 6pm.
It is essential that each student Prepares and Plans- see link document (PDF) - for the event, in advance.
The ticket for the Higher Options event is included in the '6th Year Wellbeing/Guidance' fee. Please ensure payment for this is made before Friday 8th October to facilitate access to the event.

Rotary Youth Leadership Development Competition

Dear Parents, Guardians & Students,
Please see below details of this years Rotary Youth Leadership Development Competition.
The competition is open to all students who are aged over 16 years on 1st September 2021 and under 18 years on 30th May 2022.
All entrants will receive a certificate of participation, with School and Club winners receiving certificates appropriate to their results.
School interviews by Rotary members will take place during the week beginning 15th November 2021 with the Club level final taking place in Naas during the following week, 22 Nov.
Zone Finals will be held in Jan 2022 for the winners of the various Club competitions.
A copy of the application form can be collected from Ms. Power's office (please see Privacy Statement & Application form PDF's attached below)

Breakfast Morning (Wellbeing Week)

A tasty treat for 1st Year French and German classes today, as organised by the Modern Foreign languages (MFL) Department.
Students sampled traditional French and German food and drink while chatting outside in the sunshine. We hope the classes enjoyed!

3rd Year Parent Teacher Meeting

Dear Parents & Guardians of 3rd Year students,
As per our school calendar we had provisionally scheduled Thursday 7th October for our 3rd Year PTM. Unfortunately due to covid restrictions this is unable to happen. We are awaiting further information from the Departments of Education and the HSE with hopes that we can reschedule for after midterm and proceed with in-house PTM's.
We would hope the other PTM meetings will go ahead as scheduled on our school calendar.

I am meeting with each class group to discuss this document with them. This document is also available to students in their Google Classroom.
I would specifically like to draw your attention to the Carlingford adventure centre mobile phone policy and the additional rules of the centre.
Please also notify me of any medical/dietary issues your son might have immediately.
More information will be provided in the coming days.
Please keep an eye on the 'Notice Board' section of the school app where I will provide short notices of things such as buses arriving home etc.
Please notify me immediately if your son cannot travel on the trip.

Robotics Club

The first meeting of our new robotics club will take place on Thursday 30th September at 1.30pm in Room 3/10.
This club will be taking part in the Robotics Education Ireland competition, the final of which will take place in Cork later in the year.
Students will design, build and programme their robot to successfully complete the Tipping Point challenge set out by the organisers of the competition.
It is open to any student from all years - we look forward to seeing you there.
