Good afternoon,
Please see attached document outlining some key information for our trip to Carlingford next week (13th - 15th March)
Students need to be in school for 8.30a.m on Monday morning.

I am meeting with each class group to discuss this document with them. This document is also available to students in their Google Classroom.
Students can give me their room preferences through the Google Form available in their Tutorials classroom. Only one student from each group needs to do this.
I would specifically like to draw your attention to the Carlingford adventure centre mobile phone policy and the additional rules of the centre.
Please notify me of any medical/dietary issues your son might have immediately.
More information will be provided in the coming days. Please keep an eye on the 'Notice Board' section of the school app where I will provide short notices of things such as buses arriving home etc.
Please notify me immediately if your son cannot travel on the trip.
There is no cost involved for this trip, it is included in the TY fee.
Kind regards,
S.Coy

Our Senior Footballers were all out of luck in the All-Ireland Semi-Final as their remarkable journey came to an end in Clones on Saturday. Great credit must be given to the team and management for winning the Leinster Title. A fantastic achievement and a wonderful season that was enjoyed by the whole Naas CBS Community. The success of our Senior Football Team this year sealed back to back Leinster Titles for Naas CBS and it was the fourth Leinster Title in five years for the school.
Follow the link below to view the album of photos from the Leinster Final. Thanks to Jamie Moore (5th Year) for capturing the occasion so well.

Our TY year group is delighted to be working with Barretstown and their TY Residential Programme. We have a small group of students who have put their name forward to partake in the programme and help fundraise money over the course of the year. Barretstown’s Residential TY Programme is an exciting residential experience which takes place on the beautiful 500-acre Barretstown campus.
Next May our group of TY students will stay in the campus for one week. It will give them the opportunity to spend time away in a fun, safe and educational environment, learn new skills and also gives students an insight into the work undertaken by Barretstown to support children and families affected by serious illness.
This weekend some of our students involved with Naas Rugby Club will be collecting at the club. Please support them if you see them!
You can also support our fundraisng efforts through this link!
Each student has a target of raising €500. Any contributions or support will be greatly appreciated!
Interviews for 3rd year students applying for Transition Year will take place next Monday February 27th and Tuesday February 28th.
The timetable can be accessed through the following link: Interview Timetable
This timetable may change over the coming days, please check it again closer to your interview time.
Students must be on time, wear full uniform and bring their school journals.
All interviews are taking place in either Room 1/29 or Room 2/20. Please note the room your interview is in. Please let me know in advance if there are any issues.
If for any reason a swap is required, please find a student to swap with, and notify Mr.Coy via email - sc@naascbs.ie
Regards,
S.Coy
The community of Meánscoil Iognáid Rís in Naas is one blessed with a diverse and multinational, multi-ethnic, and multi-religious population. All students of faith, as well as those of no particular faith, like to look forward to the hope of brighter days ahead. It is a hope that unites us all once the Spring arrives and also a hope heralded by the Feast of St. Bridget in County Kildare on February 1st.
But there are many ways in which we prepare for better days ahead and reflect upon where we are now. Some of our Muslim students took time over February midterm to partake in pilgrimage; fasting and self-discipline is a core part of such a commitment. This is also an aspect of the Christian season of Lent, marked this year from February 22nd (Ash Wednesday) and onward for 40 days.
School Principal Mr. Ben Travers spoke with the year groups about the importance of our inclusive ethos and remembering the importance of our Christian Faith as part of that ethos.
Fr. Robert Petrisor has acted as Chaplain to our school since 2019 and now that Covid is largely gone, he was able to lead a number of fully attended Ash Wednesday liturgies, at which the traditional ashes were distributed to those embarking on their Lenten promises. The R.E. Department in the school is delighted to have a wonderful chaplain to guide and inspire our students, particularly at these moments of liturgical importance during an increasingly busy and full school year.
Mr. Kelly
(R.E. Department)
Kind regards,
The SPHE Department
