Congratulations to 6th Year Student Ryan Sinkey and the Kildare U-20 Team who claimed a back to back Leinster Title on Tuesday evening, overcoming Dublin after extra time in Netwatch Cullen Park. Congratulations also to Mr. Cribbin who is involved with the Kildare U-20s in his role as selector. There are twelve past-pupils on the Kildare U-20 panel, representing the clubs of Naas, Raheens and Sallins. Sallins Man Colm Dalton scored the equalising point to send the match to extra time.
Ryan Sinkey enjoyed the added accolade of earning the Man of the Match Award for his brilliant performance and contribution of four points from play. A Leinster Title and Man of the Match Award – not a bad return for a Tuesday evening in April!
It was fitting that Kildare faced Dublin in the Leinster Final as it was against the same opposition that Ryan made his debut for the Kildare U-20s in the league. He came on as a sub that day and chipped in with two points. Since then, Ryan has featured as a talisman for Kildare scoring a number of points in each of the five championship games.
Well done to Ryan on this fantastic achievement. We are very proud of you and the Naas CBS past-pupils crowned Leinster Champions with the Kildare U-20s. The future is white!
Best of luck to 6th Year student Ryan Sinkey and our past-pupils who represent Kildare in the U-20 Leinster Final v Dublin this evening at Netwatch Cullen Park. Good luck also to Mr. Cribben who is a selector with the Kildare U-20 Team. A great occasion for the team and the county!
Well done to some of our TY students who took part in the Bank of Ireland Money Smarts Challenge this week in the RDS.
They came away with some vouchers thanks to quick responses to some catchphrase style questions!
A huge thanks to Ms.Lennon for coordinating the group.
Well done to our team of 3rd Year science students for participating in the annual ISTA Junior Science Quiz in Coláiste Lorcáin, Castledermot last night. Special thanks to Ms. Lawlor for going along with the team.
Ms. Houlihan
It was a pleasure to welcome parents of our Transition Year group into the school last night as part of our TY Parents Evening.
Our TY students put together an exhibition showcasing many of the areas that are incorporated into our TY programme.
The lads also presented some of their portfolio to their parents, peers and teachers. I have received fantastic feedback about the quality of these presentations and I am hugely grateful to our students for the effort they put into the evening.
I want to take this opportunity to thank parents for their continued support. Without this, the year would not be in any way as successful as it is.
A huge thank you is also owed to Mr.Travers and the management team, the teachers and support staff of our TY group who are so dedicated to the students, the caretakers Anthony, Alan & Timmy who are always on hand to help, and the school secretaries who do so much work behind the scenes.
I have included some images from the evening for you to view.
Thanks again,
S.Coy
Dear TY Parents and Guardians,
This Thursday evening (20th April) you are invited to our TY parents evening here in Naas CBS. On the evening, your sons will take the opportunity to showcase to you some of the work that they have been doing in Transition Year.
From 16.30 onwards the evening will begin with an exhibition in the assembly area. This exhibition will showcase all of the areas that are included in the TY Programme within Naas CBS, and give you the chance to speak with our TY students about their experiences. There will also be some refreshments and tea/coffee available.
At 17.15 the boys will take you to the relevant classrooms where they will each present a piece of their portfolio to you, other parents, teachers and peers. Once everyone has presented in your room, the evening will be finished.
We hope that you can make the evening.
If for any reason you or your son is unable to attend please let me know via email sc@naascbs.ie
I look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
Regards,
Stephen Coy
TY Coordinator and Year Head
