Congratulations to our Junior Rugby Team on their victory over St. Andrew's in Naas RFC on Wednesday. The final score was 13-10. The Naas try was scored by Rian Cullen and converted by Matthew Costello who also scored two penalties. St. Andrew's came back strongly in the second half. Their Number 10 ran over two tries but missed the two conversions. It was a good, clean match and Naas CBS remain undefeated and at the top of the table. The next match is against St. Patrick's, Navan after mid-term. Thanks to our coach Conor Brophy for volunteering so much of his free time.

1st Year Science Trip to Armagh Observatory

The First Years had a very enjoyable and educational trip to Armagh Observatory last week. They took two journeys in the planetarium dome - starting with the visualisation of the Big Bang, the evolution of stars, planets, galaxies, molecules and life itself. They also looked at the constellations they can see in the night sky, eclipses, moon phases and space travel - with a little competition led by their facilitator.

They did a marvelous job making rockets, used hydraulic power to propel them across Armagh and recycled the materials after. In the exhibition area, they asked very interesting questions to the facilitators, touched a real meteorite and tried on space helmets.

The facilitators and teachers commended the First Years on their excellent behaviour, curiosity and general good company. Thanks to the Science Department for organising such an enjoyable and worthwhile trip.
