Classroom Based Assessment (CBA) is one of the new assessment tools used in the revised Junior Cycle. Junior Cycle students will complete two CBAs for each subject in the new Junior Cycle. One CBA will take place in 2nd Year and one CBA will take place in 3rd Year (Gaeilge is the only exception with both CBAs taking place in 3rd Year). The grading system used for CBAs comprises of a 'descriptor' rather than a percentage. These descriptors are reported on in the students official Junior Cycle Certificate. Descriptors are awarded to students using subject specific 'Features of Quality'. The Features of Quality are available on our website www.naascbs.ie under JCT and will help you to understand the grade achieved. 3rd Year English, Business and Science are currently undertaking CBA2 2nd Year English, Business, Science, Art, French and German will be undertaking CBA1 next Spring
