Gifts to the Crib

The annual "Gifts to the Crib" will take place next Wednesday, 12th December. It is a wonderful tradition in Our Lady's School when students and staff donate small tokens of kindness to others less fortunate than themselves. We would like to continue to build on the success of previous years by encouraging all to donate generously. We ask that each year group purchase their new gift in line with the specified recipients below. Thank you in advance for your immense generosity during this season of Advent. 1st & 2nd to bring gifts for babies and young children 3rd & 4th to bring a new gift for a teenager 5th Year- Care package for homeless shelters and women’s refuge; spray deodorants, toothpaste and brushes, combs, brushes, shampoo and conditioner, sanitary wear, underwear, socks, gloves, disposable razors and shaving cream. 6th Year- to bring non- perishable food items; canned goods, cereals, pasta, rice, treats etc.

Well done to all who partook enthusiastically in the development day on Monday. All 4 workshops were a success. A few notices for the week ahead. Wednesday 12th: Remember to bring your donation to the 'Gifts to the Crib' ceremony. Friday 15th: House Colour Day is taking place Friday. Make sure to support your house. Also, be ready to show off your innovative freeze frames during Pastoral Care.

Congratulations to our wonderful bakers in LCA (and Ms. Surlis) who presented a beautiful Afternoon Tea to staff and parents. Delicious treats and tea and coffee were had by all.

A few notices for the week ahead. Monday 3rd: Development days will be beginning at 08:30 and finishing at 15:10. Students must wear their PE uniform for the day as there will be a lot of activity. Sign language classes will be running as normal in room 8 and 9. Friday: 7th: M house mass will be taking place next Friday with L house finishing early.

Monday 26th: World Survey will be taking place for those with permission slips returned. Tuesday 27th: School will be closed due to Junior Cycle Training for Teachers.
Art Exhibition

Students, parents & guardians of last year's 3rd year Art classes, we, the Art teachers have the pleasure of inviting you, and your family to the official evening of the annual Junior Certificate Art exhibition on Thursday the 22nd November 2018. The exhibition will be open between 6.00 and 7.00 pm. This event will be a celebration of all the creativity, talent and hard work that went into creating all the exciting, interesting and brilliantly executed projects that the girls produced for their art project. Your daughter’s project and those of all students who submitted a Junior Certificate Art project will be on display in the area surrounding the Art rooms. The exhibition has been on display for the last couple of weeks in the school and will stay on the walls for a further week after this opening night. Once the exhibition is over, your daughter may take her project home.

Well done to all TYs for engaging actively with Zeminar yesterday. Some dates to remember for the coming week. Monday 19th: New subject blocks will be starting. Make sure you're aware of your new subjects and where you are going. Tuesday 20th: SOAR workshop. School will start and finish at usual times. You will be going to your first two classes of the day. Wear your PE gear. Friday 23rd: Nuns feast day.
