On Wednesday our TYs spent the day in Zeminar in Blanchardstown learning about charities, mental health, educational opportunities and getting involved with a variety of organisations in their local area. All students represented Our Lady's School excellently and engaged very well with all speakers on the day. Please note some notices for the week ahead. On Friday the 18th of October all students will be having their second Development Day. Locations are posted on the TY noticeboard and all students should be aware where they are going for the day. School will start and finish at the regular times and all students must wear their school tracksuit and hoodie. From Monday the 21st to Friday the 25th of October all students will be on Work Experience. This week in Life Skills and tutorial time all students will be preparing for their first steps into the working world. If your daughter has any queries about work experience please tell her to ask her life skills teacher or the work experience coordinator, Ms. Murray. Our Lady's school has been allocated one place on the RCSI Transition Year MiniMed Programme 2020 which will run from Monday 24th February – Wednesday 26th February 2020 at RCSI. Reminder that students are allowed a maximum of ONE additional placement. If your daughter wishes to put herself forward for this work experience, please download and fill in the additional work experience form from olschool.ie/curriculum/transition-year. The deadline is Monday 14th Oct at 08:30 and the form must be given to Ms. Murray. The lottery draw will take place in R31 at break (10.30) on Monday 14th Oct.

Our Lady’s School is delighted to invite all of our 6th Year students to take part in their upcoming parent teacher meeting on Tuesday 15th October, 4:15 – 6:45 . We strongly encourage all 6th Year students to avail of this opportunity. These sessions will be an occasion for students to receive valuable formative feedback from their teachers, set goals and targets and seek advice from teachers where needed. We look forward to meeting students and parents on Tuesday at 4.15pm in the Sports Hall. Please note that the meeting finishes at 6.45pm and that some teachers teach more than one class. We therefore ask students and parents to keep appointments with teachers to a 4 minute limit. Many thanks.

We are inviting all our 1st and 2nd Year parents to a Meet & Greet tomorrow morning, Friday Oct 11th, from 8.15am in St. Joseph's Hall. You will be directed to park on the grit pitch behind the school and can enter the school building through the arch door near St. Joseph's Hall. Our students come to OLS from over 20 different primary schools so each September new relationships commence with other new students and their families. We know that parents have an interest in connecting with other new parents to ease the jump from primary school to a new secondary school. This is a new start, not just for our daughters, but for the whole family too! We would be delighted if you could pop your head in for a quick cup of coffee or tea from 8.15 am onwards to meet other 1st and 2nd Year parents. We look forward to meeting you then, OLS Parents' Council
