Advent

After the class meeting this morning, Ms. Reigh turned on the second purple candle on our advent wreath.
This purple candle represents Faith. Prophets foretold that a descendant of King David would be born in Bethlehem.
Our advent wreath and display was arranged by the Ethos Committee in the school. It is on display in the foyer at the DayBreak entrance.
A prayer service, led by Ms. J. Burke, is taking place every Monday at 1.35 p.m., in the sacred space, until the Christmas break.

1st year subject options
Created : 02 Dec 2022, 12:18 PM
Archived : 03 Feb 2023, 12:00 AM
Dear parents/guardians,
1st year students received their subject options this morning. You will appreciate that with 144 students and 7 subjects, it is a logistical challenge to try to accommodate the preferences of the students. Invariably some subjects will be oversubscribed and we are limited by the class capacity numbers as well as physical and human resources. We have worked hard to try to get the best outcome for all students. Every student has been given 2 subjects from their top 4 choices, meaning nobody is studying a subject from their 5-7 preferences.
Most students will be delighted with the outcome but there could be some who would like to be added to a waiting list should a place become available in a particular subject. If this is the case please send me an email to joeleonard@cpckilcullen.com and I will contact you if a change becomes possible.
I wish all of our students continued success in their studies.
Kind regards
J Leonard

A wonderful way to begin Christmas preparations is a visit to the Kilcullen Nativity Exhibition which has been organised by Lorraine Hegarty Kelly. 1D visited today and were very impressed at the extraordinary collection of over 150 cribs from around the world on display. The exhibition continues until 4pm on Sunday next, 4th December. Donations in aid of St Vincent de Paul and Kilcullen Parish are welcome. To get a sneak preview please go to The Kilcullen Diary video showing a small selection of the cribs at www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqIrm27fy-M
