Huge congratulations to Abbey McNamara, Hannah Lee-Parnell and James Groome who received their Gaisce (Presidents Prize) Awards today. These awards were earned by completing personal, physical and community challenges over twenty six weeks in addition to a 25km hike. We are very proud of you all.
Well done to our 5th Year students who received a range of awards today including Academic Excellence, Application to Study, Cooperation, Music, Sports, Student Council, Prefect, Attendance, Enterprise Bright Star Award and LCA Awards. It was wonderful to acknowledge and celebrate the work and commintment shown by those students who received awards today.
Students recently enjoyed the Develop Me workshops where they worked in groups to solve puzzles and develop their team work skills. These workshops led to important insights on the importance of sharing resources, teamwork and cooperation.
We were glad to welcome back David Collins from The Fundamentals for the remaining class workshops. Students engaged very well and identified leadership qualities within themselves and others which will prove a valuable foundation for the move to 5th Year Leaving Certificate Programmes.
We were delighted to welcome poet Stephen Murray, www.inspireland.ie recently. Stephen worked with our TY students giving them the opportunity to find new and creative ways to express themselves. This has been a very rewarding experience, especially for those who have not considered poetry as a mode of expression for themselves in the past. The students produced some really evocative poems.
