We wish Glyn O’Connor (TYB) well tomorrow in his surgery in the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin following a farm accident yesterday. Glyn’s dad (Alan) asked that members of our school community light a candle for him as he undergoes surgery tomorrow. We are all thinking of Glyn and his brother Cillian (6D) and sister Celyn (3A).

I hope LC Students and Parents/Guardians are keeping well. We are now very close to the formal implementation of the Grades Calculation Process.
There are 4 Key Points I would like to emphasise at this time !!
1/ LC students need to be prepared to use the Student Portal which you will be notified of from Tuesday. This is an opportunity for a student who has decided to change from HL to OL ( only) to formally change the level at which they want to be assessed!
2/ Training for teachers and management is being provided from Monday re the implementation of the Calculated Grades Process!
3/ A Guide for students and for Parents/ Guardians will also be issued in the coming days !
4/ We are delighted to confirm that we are having a Virtual LC Graduation Ceremony on Thursday evening next , the 28th of May , at 7pm. We will provide further details on how you can access this Special Ceremony on that evening!

Congratulations to our Junior Certs, 1st , 2nd, TY, LCA and 5th year students on the completion of your Summer Assessments. Sincere thanks to all students, teachers and parents/guardians for embracing the challenge of Distance Learning since early March. Well done to everybody for cooperating to ensure the last 2weeks of online assessments were successfully structured and completed. We have all learned so much from this process and will ultimately be even more resilient from the experience!
We will make arrangements re Book Rental returns in due course.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer break within the restrictions of these difficult times . Please take the opportunity to help out at home and cherish this time with your family ,especially, those who may otherwise be living somewhere else due to work or study !
Thanks so much for all your patience, understanding and perseverance during these past weeks as we all were challenged to get to grips with how best to proceed. A special word of thanks to your Year Heads, Tutors,Teachers and Pastoral Care Team who have had your best interests always in their hearts and minds .
On behalf of everyone at BCS, myself, Mr Maurice Geary and Mrs Maria O Brien, please keep safe and well and we look forward to your return to the New Normal of late August/ September. We will inform you of those arrangements when we are all clearer on how we will proceed!
Ní neart go cur le chéile,

Day 18 Total 301km
Challenge 5 Total 963km
Cumulative Total 6668km
Great distance covered for a Monday when motivation might not be the greatest. We have reached the town of Chrzanów in Poland. Only a short hop now to Kraków which we should reach early tomorrow morning.
Less than 2 full weeks to go in our overall challenge. It would be great to see more students and teacher join the 146 members we already have. Although students and teachers are busy with exams, it is still vital to get some exercise in every day. Every bit of exercise you do in a day adds up.
Well done to our most active club members from last week too.
Parent-John Campion (2 weeks in a row)
Teacher-Patrick Cronin
Male student-Jack Schurmann
Female student-Abbie Roche
Can we get some new members on the leaderboard for next week?
