A very exciting event, organised by 2B History and their teacher Ms. McNamara, is taking place tomorrow Thursday 25th October 2018. The students will cast their vote on who their preferred Presidential Candidate is. Students are encouraged to be part of the democratic process and to cast their vote tomorrow.

Maths Week

Students had a very busy week taking part in lots of different activities including a Maths Trail, Table Quiz, puzzles, card games and more. Congratulations to all our Junior and Senior students won the Problem of the Day competition. A big thank you to the teachers who organised the events and to the students for their enthusiasm and participation.
Cross Country

Great success for St. Josephs Athletes in the Belleek Cross Country event organised by Moy Valley AC. Colm McHale won the 1st Year Boys race and led his team to victory. Tadhg Staunton won the 2nd/3rd Year race while our Senior Boys won the Team event with great performances from Micheal Holmes and Nathan Armstrong. St. Josephs also won the best overall boys school.
The girls also enjoyed great success winning the Team event with Emily Reape leading her team home. Senior girls took 2nd place with fine runs from Grace Turnbull, Cliodhna Flynn, Alice Doherty and Ailish Armstrong. St Josephs got 2nd best overall girls school. A special mention to Katie Macken who had a marvellous run and completed her 1st Year race and to Ben Gallagher who got a Special Achievement award. Well Done to all on a fantastic day out!

Well done to our Leaving Certificate students Alannah Flynn, Amanda Coleman, Brian Orme, Michelle O’Hara, Steven Conroy, Roisin Langan and Lauren Smyth who graduated from Foróige’s Leadership for Life programme in NUIG last weekend. They each received a Foundation Certificate in Youth Leadership and Community Action. Congratulations to you all on this wonderful achievement.

Congratulations to the U16 Boys and their coach Mr. Flynn who had 3 wins in 3 matches to finish top of their Pool and will now progress to the late stages of the competition.

Students will be taking part in a range of activities this week to celebrate Maths Week. Activities will include a ‘Problem of the Day”, puzzles and games, team building, a Maths Trail of Foxford, a photography competition and a table quiz! The aim of Maths Week is to make Maths accessible to all and to recognise the importance of maths in our daily lives. We encourage all students to join in the fun this week!
