Lots of fun and competition - a great end to the half-term. Well done to Prashika, Lauriz, Sabraina and Chryselle for organising this event.

Many thanks and well done to the 10 students who came into school at 7am on a Monday morning to talk about books they love.
As part of Irish Book Week, Alexandra, Chelsea, Giovanna, Fariyah, Kierra, Madison, Maya, Nadira, Rihanna
and Tori accompanied Jenny, our JCSP Librarian, to Chapters bookstore where they had a really fun and interesting morning meeting
with Ireland AM presenter Deric Hartigan
and learning about his career and they discussed
their favourite books.
Very well done to Kierra and Tori who were interviewed about books they love on live TV.
Students also had the opportunity to meet with illustrator Una Woods and author Felicity Hayes-McCoy and we also chose some new books for our JCSP school library

Five of our students who completed summer work placements in technology companies during August receiving their certificates and glowing references from their host companies
Mount Carmel students were very lucky to have had the opportunity to work in APTIV, Bearingpoint, HostelWorld and Travelport. Thank you to these companies for hosting and mentoring our students and giving them the chance to get firsthand experience in a tech company so that they can visualise themselves in these kinds of careers. We are very grateful to Teen-Turn for organising these work experiences for our students. @teenturn
Our students all had really positive experiences and have learnt lots about programming, making their own website and what it’s like to work in a technology company.

Today, we had the pleasure of hosting Professional Magician Caolan McBride in our JCSP Library to celebrate Maths Week with our 1st and 2nd year students.
Caolan’s performance was numeracy-focused, featuring magic tricks that incorporated number squares, card tricks, percentages and probability. Both students and staff were thoroughly entertained and engaged, making this interactive magic show a fantastic way to mark Maths Week.
