Junior & Leaving Cert Fees

The school has been notified that letters will be issued next week (beginning 1st April) to each student sitting her Junior or Leaving Cert exams, containing details of the payment for the state examinations. The fees can be paid online. Once the school receives these letters we will pass them on to the students.

Easter Study

We are planning to offer supervised study during the Easter holidays if there is sufficient interest from students. There will be two sessions each day; 9.30-12.30 and 1.30 to 4.30. Students should sign up only for the sessions they want to do and the cost per session is €8. Study will not take place on Good Friday or Easter Monday. If you are interested and do not currently do study please give your name to Mr Drea. If you already do study Mr Drea will take your name during study on Monday and application forms will be given out next week.
Money Collected for Cancer Care West

Well done to each of the houses who collected money for Cancer Care West and were awarded house tokens in recognition of this. The amounts raised were: Baird €65 (10 tokens) Taheny €76 (20 tokens) Heuston €81 (30 tokens) Lynch €82 (40 tokens) Butler €89 (50 tokens) WINNER: Nolan €108 (100 tokens) Total raised €501.
Marian Hegarty RIP

Our school secretary, Marian Hegarty, passed away suddenly on Thursday 7th March. Our entire school community is in shock at this loss. Marian’s family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. This will be a difficult time for many of our students. The school will close on Tuesday 12th March 2019 as a mark of respect for our school secretary, Marian Hegarty, who is being buried. The funeral service will take place in Galway Cathedral at 12pm.
Butler House Takes the Half-Year Lead

The half-year count of the house tokens has taken place and Butler House have come out on top! In total there were 5742 tokens awarded since September, that means 5742 positive and praise-worthy actions carried out by students. The half-year tally is: BUTLER 1019 HEUSTON 990 LYNCH 972 TAHENY 953 BAIRD 915 NOLAN 890 Congratulations to Butler house on being the leaders at the half-way point of the year, but also to the rest of the houses as the scores are very close and any house could realistically overtake them by the end of the year!

The 1st Year soccer match scheduled to take place today (Friday 8th February) has been postponed to the weather warning.
