Creative Engagement Grant Awared to St. Macartan's College

The Sem has been awarded a Creative Engagement grant by the Dept. of Education and Skills and the Dept. of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht in conjunction with the NAPD. This is an Arts-In-Education Programme that encourages creativity and innovation in schools.

Rannafast Team into Shield Final

Our Rannafast Cup team progressed to this year's shield final after a 3-11 to 1-5 win today against St. Pat's Armagh. The final will be played against the winners of this week's other semi final final St. Pius X Magherafelt. During November our students from first to sixth year have participated in a prayerful reflection to remember and honour our friends and family members who have passed away especially over the past year.  Our Tree of Remembrance displays the names of the loved ones we pray for.  Feel free to contact the school to have a name added to the tree and remembered in prayer.

Pictured below are members of the St. Macartan's College Student Council who attended a training day in Castleblayney today with students from other Co. Monaghan schools. The training was organised by Monaghan Education Centre. The students were accompanied by the school's student leadership coordinator Ms. McSkean. The group met Adam Harris guest speaker from AsIAm the national charity and advocacy organisation for autism awareness. Adam’s talk focused on inclusion. @monaghanec #StudentLeaders

Thanks to the grants allocated to the school in 2017 and 2019 and the support of parents and past pupils through the Cairde Mhic Chairthinn Scheme, St. Macartan's College is in a position to finalise the upgrading our 60 x 30 handball courts and dressing rooms. #SportsCapital19
