On Wednesday, 25th August, candidates will have been alerted directly by text and email from the SEC to the publication of a short guide to the accredited grades data collection, national standardisation and quality assurance processes which provides further information.

The short guide will include the timetables for accessing more information about results, the dates for applying to view scripts and the deadline for making an appeal application.

Active School Flag

Dear Parent/Guardian
This year HFSS has been included in the second pilot phase of the Active School Flag for post primary schools. The aim of the project is to promote physical activity in a fun, positive and inclusive way, guide schools to create their own specific roadmap for sustained physical activity practises and support schools to identify strategies to energise the school day and to reduce sedentary time. Some Transition Year classes will be working on this project over the coming year. As the project outcomes will be specific to HFSS, before any initiatives can be developed all students will be asked to complete a questionnaire based around physical activity, the barriers to physical activity and physical activity in the school both curricular and extra-curricular.
Please see the attached letter outlining the whole process involved in the Active Schools Flag and complete the opt out form under consent forms if you do not wish your child to take part.

Making Payments Through SHOP in App

As the main banks continue to upgrade their 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) security procedures it has caused some issues within the 3D Secure process for some cardholders. Your bank must have a mobile number assigned to your Debit/Credit card in order to send you the OTP (one-time password) via SMS/Text Message. If your bank does not have a mobile number assigned to your card this verification process cannot be completed and you may not be able to make the payment if 3D Security checks are implemented.
The Unique Schools App Team is developing an option for parents to overcome some of the incorrect “Payment failed" errors being generated by the banks. You will be able to complete the payment on a desktop or laptop browser. This feature will be live within the next 2 weeks and we will notify you of this.
