Not to be for our 1st year team as Abbeyfeale got the better of us finishing 2-0 in today's soccer final. We tried hard but never got going today with strong opposition, limiting us all over. A good campaign overall with lots to build on going forward. @faimunschools @faischools

Intermediate School Killorglin, renowned for clinching the best rowing School trophy in 2007, made a valiant effort to reclaim the title this year. Overall, the school secured the third position out of 53 participating schools. Methodist College seized the championship with 32 points, while Caloiste Iognaid and Castletroy College tied for second place with 21 points each. ISK achieved third place with a total of 16 points. Congratulations to all the hardworking students who contributed to the school's success.
The day saw several outstanding performances. Sadbhb O'Sullivan set the tone with a victory in the Women’s J16 time trial, subsequently earning third place overall in the final. Joe Horan and Noah Oflaherty followed suit, winning their time trial and clinching second place in the final behind St Brendan’s.
The Women’s Junior 16 quad comprising Sadbhb O’Sullivan, Fia O’Gorman, Belle O’Shea, and Kate McMahon, coxed by Magda Draczynska, dominated their time trial and secured second place in the final behind Methodist College. In the Men’s Junior 16 single sculls, Rory and Jerome secured fourth place in their respective heats.
The School's first medal of the day came from Liam Byrne and Sean O’Gorman in the Men’s Junior 14 double, overcoming crews from Athlone and St Joseph’s College to emerge victorious. Freya Doyle showcased her skill and finesse by comfortably winning the Women’s Junior 14 single sculls finals.
Cian Hynes competed in the fiercely contested Men’s U23s single scull event, finishing 4th in his time trial. Sadbhb O’Sulllivan and Fia O’Gorman continued the winning streak, dominating their time trial and the final, leaving competitors from Our Lady’s Terenure, Gaelcholaiste Limerick, and St. Angela’s far behind and claiming the WJ16 2x title.
To conclude the day, Sean O’Gorman and Liam Byrne faced off in the Men’s Junior 14 single sculls final, securing second and third place respectively. It was an exceptional two days of racing, showcasing great speed and setting a high standard for the season ahead. Kudos to everyone involved, and a special thanks to Michael Fleming for his unwavering dedication and hard work in training the crews.
