We had a busy week in the Home Economics room!  TYs took part in their first practical making fruit crumble, 3rd years baked and decorated cakes and 1st year students applied their knowledge and created a poster on the food pyramid.

Our Senior Boys had a great win over our local rivals Presentation Milltown today in a high-scoring and entertaining game. Final score 4-13 to 3-7. We now advance to the final versus the winners of Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine and Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne at a date yet to be confirmed. Well done to all involved. A special mention for Oran Sheehan from TY2 who provided score updates from our new Future Leaders Twitter account. Our thanks to CLG Réalt na Mara, Cromane for the use of their pitch.

Guard of Honour

There will be a Guard of Honour for Sean Scanlon, son of SNA Liz Scanlon, at the ISK this evening at 5.15pm as his remains are brought home to south Kerry. Apologies for the short notice, but if anyone can make it at that time, it would be appreciated.

Hard luck to our 2nd year hockey team who braved the elements today to play against a strong Scoil Mhuire side at Cork Harlequins. Final score 2-0. Well done to all the team.
Farewell to Ms. Randles

A bittersweet day in the ISK today as we said farewell to our retiring Home Economics teacher Ms. Randles after 35 years of outstanding service to the school. Ms. Randles has been a brilliant teacher as well as a superb role model for so many of our students. We wish her every good wish in the future!

Wellbeing Week 2024 On Tuesday, Coillte visited the school to deliver a talk to all First Years on its role and function. A multitude of questions were answered, before each student was presented with a sapling. Advice was also provided on how to plant the sapling, so we could make a further contribution to our future
Walk to School Day 2024

The I.S.K. will be holding it's annual Walk to School Day tomorrow Thursday October 24th. We encourage all students and staff to participate. There will be two drop off points: The Fairfield Carpark and The Track (J.P. O' Sullivan Park.) Staff may park in The Track. Thanks for your cooperation.
Junior Boys Rugby

Hard luck to our Junior Boys' rugby team, who were defeated by a physically strong Hamilton High, Bandon team today. In a high scoring game, our boys lost out 34-21.
