Good luck to our Concern debaters who will face Alexandra College on Monday 21st November over Zoom. The debaters are Sophie Kilcullen, Sophie Faughnan, Eva Keyes and Ella Bracken. They will propose the motion that “climate activists should not eat meat”.
This year the school is applying for its first Green Flag. The theme of the flag is 'Litter and Waste'. To support the application we are asking students to bring home the waste from their lunches. We have also installed a new recycling system with green bins on every corridor which can be used to recycle used paper only. We would be very grateful if you would talk to your child about the importance of the correct separation of rubbish and remind them to bring food waste home.
Thank you so much for your support and we will keep you updated on our progress.
Bhí Meánscoil an Chreidim Naofa ag glacadh páirte in Gaeilge24 arís i mbliana. Is dúshlán é Gaeilge24 a spreagann daltaí chun Gaeilge amháin a úsáid ar feadh 24 uair an chloig: sa bhaile, ar scoil agus gach aon áit eile. Tá an dúshlán á eagrú ag Conradh na Gaeilge. Bhí an dúshlán ar siúl Dé Máirt 15 Samhain 2022. Deis iontach a bhí ann chun do chuid Gaeilge a úsáid. Bhailigh gach dalta a bhí ag glacadh páirte €10. Tabharfar gach brabús do Chonradh na Gaeilge chun tacú le cur chun cinn na Gaeilge ar fud na hÉireann. Fuair gach dalta a bhí ag glacadh páirte sa dúshlán pacáiste tacaíochta chun cuidiú leo. Fuair siad t-léine, banda láimhe agus frásaí samplacha. Maith sibh gach duine a bhí ag glacadh páirte, rinne sibh sáriarracht. Mar a deir an seanfhocal, "tír gan teanga tír gan anam"
Once again Holy Faith Secondary School took part in Gaeilge24 this year. Gaeilge24 is a challenge which encourages pupils to speak exclusively in Irish for 24 hours: at home, in school and everywhere else. The challenge is organised by Conradh na Gaeilge. The challenge took place on Tuesday November 15th 2022. It was a great opportunity for students and staff to use their Irish. Every pupil who participated raised €10. Any profits made from the campaign this year will go towards Conradh na Gaeilge's efforts to promote and support the Irish language. Every pupil who participated received a support pack to help them on the day; including a t-shirt, a wristband and a leaflet with useful phrases. Well done everyone who participated, you made an excellent effort. As the saying goes, "A country without a language is a country without a soul"
