Dear Parents/Guardians,

Our Second Year students will commence their CBA schedule this week. During the CBA process the emphasis is on independent learning and student participation.  Please see the schedule below :

Murphy Ireland Career Event

A number of our TY, 5th and 6th Year students attended a career event hosted by Murphy Ireland in Newbridge Rugby Club last Friday. Students who attended on the day gained an insight into the world of construction, seeing different machinery and trying out activities like welding.They also learned about the range of apprenticeship opportunities on offer in the Construction sector.
Well done to all the enthusiastic students who attended. 
 
3rd Year SPHE Classes

All 3rd year SPHE classes will be taking part in the Pieta Resilience Academy over the coming weeks. The Resilience Academy offers programmes for secondary school students aimed at equipping them with emotional resilience tools. Skills training programmes aim to increase protective factors such as coping skills, problem solving, decision making, and cognitive skills. While these programmes don’t directly target suicide, by targeting risk factors and giving youth important skills, the goal is to prevent the development of suicidal behaviour. The programme aims to equip young people with the skills and knowledge to support themselves not just now but long into the future. Key Aims: : Enhancing protective factors, : Developing coping skills, : Increasing self-efficacy, : Increase awareness of supports, : Encouraging help seeking behaviour, : Reducing Stigma
Rag Day in Aid of Teach Tearmainn

Dear  Staff, Students, Parents/ Guardians,

Due to the generosity of our school community we raised €2,044.31 for Teach Tearmainn this morning. 

The winners of our fancy dress competition were:

  • Ashton Foster 1st Year 
  • Eric Burke  6th Year 
  • Tawheed 6th Year

Well done to all of our students who made the effort to dress up. A special mention to the 'contingent' from St Mary's College.

The weekend was spent with Christmas markets, swimming in the thermal pool and tasting even more typical German dishes. On Monday our students had the opportunity to taste Kaffee und Kuchen in a local bakery. Everything is just great, according to the boys . M. Lonergan
