Tarbert Comprehensive was very well represented last Friday the 1st of November in the Interschools Showjumping Competition in Clonshire Equestrian Centre in Adare. It was an unbelievably wet and windy day but our competitors shun out. Our 1 metre team of Niamh, Aobha, Aodha and Sarah came 2nd and our 90 cm team of Eoin ,Paul, and Antoinette were very unlucky not to qualify for the jump off. Aobha Quinn also came 2nd in the 1 metre individual class. A very successful day out. A huge thank you to former student Rachel and Tracey at Streamside for their constant support of the teams and to Ms. Culloty for attending the event with the students.

Poetry recital is not for the faint of heart; it takes guts, courage, determination and hard work! On Wednesday 23rd October, seven brave students performed in the Kerry Poetry Aloud heat in Tralee. Dylan Uljee, Fabiano Da Silva, Erin Da Silva, Paul O'Donnell, Hollie Kelly, Ashling McElligott and Jack Mac Monagle represented Tarbert Comprehensive, delivering challenging poems with flair and tenacity, in a demanding competition of endurance, emotion and panache. It was a proud and memorable occasion for all involved, and one student was successful on the day. Jack MacMonagle, a veteran Poetry Alouder in Tarbert Comprehensive School, will compete later in the year at the semi-finals in the National Library of Ireland, Dublin. Congratulations and well done to Jack and all of our PA 2019 students on their courageous and gritty performance!
