The TC boys lost out to St. Micheals in Friday's final which was played in Tarbert in a very tight game. There was a difference of 5 points at the final whistle but the lads had twice pulled level having trailed by 5 points. There can be no fault of the effort made by the boys today. Too many of the lads had a great game to single out any individuals. Congratulations on getting to the final and the team spirit shown. Thanks must go to their coaches Mr. Scanlon and Mr. O'Keeffe for their work with the boys.. .

Belfast was the destination on Wednesday for TYs in Northern Ireland. The day began with a tour around the Titanic Visitor experience where Eoin was King of the World and promised Danny that he would never let him go. Lunch followed in the galley of the Nomadic, one of the last White Star Line ships to be built and now in dry dock. Next, Belfast City hall and the Christmas Markets. Back to Derry to the hostel for a Titanic Pizza party! Thursday, our final day of the tour began with a visit to the Bogside for a history lesson. Griannan an Aileach Hillfort in Donegal was our next destination. We even had time for TicTocking around! Onwards to Yeats' Grave in Sligo where we listened to a clip of Yeats reciting the Lake Isle of Inisfree at his graveside. Then an interesting visit to St Columbas Church where we were fortunate to meet the Tourism Chaplain, Reverand Anthony who told us stories about its 5thC monastic origins. Our second last stop of the day was in Knock Shrine where we saw the apparition mosaic and learned about how the Basilica came to exist. After a truly epic week, it was homeward bound then, with a brief stop for dinner in magnificent Ballindine, home of our resident historian, Mr. Trench.

The morning was divided between class time with the French students and a visit to the local steel factory . This was followed by lunch in the school canteen . The afternoon was spent in the local sports centre where students enjoyed playing basketball, learning Breton dance and Judo. Charlie didn't turn up for afternoon activities !!! Où etait Charlie ???
