Today after an early breakfast, we boarded the bus to Gent. We sauntered around the Christmas Markets and we went on a big ferris wheel from where we had a 360° view. We also visited the renowned St. Bravo‘s Cathedral as well as seeing the other three cathedrals in the city. Some time later we boarded the bus once again and headed to Brugge. We went ice-skating for the second time during the trip and we had great fun. The Christmas Markets in Brugge exceeded my expectations, there was a extensive variety of gifts available. We embarked the bus and headed to Brussels. We went to get dinner in an Italian restaurant and we headed back to the hotel and enjoyed our evening.

Firstly today, we had breakfast in the hotel, before walking to the European House of History. Here we got a different kind of tour as we were given a tablet and a book to answer questions in as we went around the museum. Next we went to the European Commission. Here we got a chance to talk and ask questions to Commissioner Hogan who is the European commissioner for agricultural and rural development. He answered our questions many of which revolved around BREXIT. After lunch we got 4 hours of free time to go around Brussels and obviously see the infamous Christmas market. Finally, after another long day we got dinner and got to head back to the hotel for the night.

Paul O'Donnell (TY) is in Brussels as part of the 'Meet your MEP' programme 2017.
Thursday 7th December
Today we arrived in Brussels at a 20 past 9, which is 1 hour ahead of Ireland. We then got transported straight to our hotel. The first place we went to see was the European Parliament. In some of the side rooms we met with Sean Kelly and Mairead McGuinness. We got a chance to ask them all the questions we wanted. We then visited the Parlimentarium, a museum of how the EU came to be and the ‘Future Classroom Lab’. After the long day Sean Kelly hosted a dinner before we went back to our rooms for the night.
PS. sorry its late but it was a very busy day
