Well done to all our students who took part in the regional Poetry Aloud Qualifiers last Thursday and a special congratulations to Erin Da Silva who qualified for the National Finals that will take place in Dublin shortly.

Dé Máirt 13-11-18 . This Tuesday the challenge for our first years is to speak Irish for the day , ar scoil , sa bhaile , le cairde agus clann . Caithfidh siad t-léinte speisialta ar an lá and there will be a tráth na gceist for all first years on the day with lots of prizes . Bígí linn .

A reminder the Third Year Parent Teacher meeting will take place in the school gym next Thursday November 8th from 4:15 to 6:45pm. Parents are asked to attend no later tha 5:30 pm to ensure you get to see all teachers.

Look at how the final First Year sampling group got up to in their Woodwork rotation.
Material Technology Wood, more commonly known as "Woodwork", is a hands-on subject where pupils will be working with tools and machinery, as well as with wood and plastic.
There are many benefits from woodworking for pupils; a sense of competence, confidence, responsibility, respect for self and others, respect for materials and safety improved eye-hand coordination, strength, and fine-motor control.

Students from the LCA and TY Programmes on a touring visit to Foynes Port today at the invitation of the Shannon Foynes Port Authority. It gave students an excellent insight into the port operations.
Art in the Comp

Students studying Art in the Comp have been busy lately. TYs have completed a color theory and landscape painting block and the leaving carts visited an art gallery in Limerick in preparation for their Leaving Cert exam.

Girls Basketball

With the basketball season we’ll underway our girls teams are doing really well. Senior girls basketball cup team beat Colaiste Ide recently, are on a winning role and have 4 wins out of four. The 3rd team are playing really well but were narrowly beaten by Gael Col Tralee in there last game.
