1st year subject choices

Dear parents/guardians,
subject choices have now been assigned to your son/daughter and you can log in to VsWare to see on their timetable which subjects they have.
You can appreciate that with such a large number of students some subjects were oversubscribed. This is why we asked you to choose the preferences very carefully.
I am delighted to tell you that all students have been accommodated in receiving their first choice subject - this is quite something given the numbers involved. Over 70% of students have received their top two choices, with another more than 20% of students receiving their first and third choice. The remaining students have secured their first and fourth choice subjects. No student has received their fifth, sixth or seventh choice.
I trust that the vast majority of students will be delighted with the outcome. I understand that some students might be a little disappointed not to get their absolute top preferences but unfortunately there will not be a possibility of changing subjects unless a student comes out of a subject. There are limits to the number of students permitted in each class.
If you wish to add your child's name to a waiting list for a subject please let me know through admin@cpckilcullen.com
Kind regards
J Leonard
Supervised study - 6th years
Created : 11 Dec 2020, 3:05 PM

Good afternoon everybody,
I hope you are all keeping well and looking forward to Christmas.
We have been looking at the possibility of running 6th year study, starting in January and have been exploring many options over the past few weeks. A large number of students have expressed interest in availing of study this year and we want to do all we can to support our students in a safe way.
It will be possible to run study from Monday to Thursday only but we have to reduce the number of students in any room in order to meet COVID regulations and also make the environment comfortable and safe for all. All COVID related guidelines regarding face masks, distancing, hand sanitising, cleaning etc. will still apply.
As a result of the restrictions on numbers in each room, the fee for study from January to May will be €300. This equates to around €2.40 per hour. We will require payment in full to guarantee a place and to ensure that it is viable to run study at all.
There will be a maximum of 20 students in the room and places will be filled on a first come first served basis. Once one room is full we will then move onto a second room and so on.
If you have any queries or are interested in securing a place please contact Ms A. O'Malley who organises study.

College Awareness Week 2020 Monday 23rd - Friday 27th November
Created : 16 Nov 2020, 9:46 AM
Archived : 16 Jan 2021, 12:00 AM
Dear Parent/Guardian
To mark College Awareness Week 2020, the Guidance Department plan on raising awareness of the various college courses our past students have graduated from or are currently studying.
We hope to have an ‘Alumni Wall’ on display in various parts of the school building highlighting the multitude of courses in various Higher Education Institutions which our past students have undertaken.
We also plan on holding a live interactive webinar in which past students will talk to our current Senior Cycle students about their experiences of preparing for the Leaving Cert, choosing the right college course, mistakes they may have made along the way and advice for life in Third Level.
We are asking all past students who would like to get involved in either providing us with details of the course they studied/are studying or would like to be involved in the live event (or indeed would like to get more information about our plans) to contact us at either
denisdennehy@cpckilcullen.com or elainemcdonnell@cpckilcullen.com
So please spread the word to your own children that may be past students, nieces, nephews, neighbours etc.
We would be delighted to have as many past students involved as possible.
Thank you in advance
Denis Dennehy and Elaine McDonnell
