Christmas Spectacular- Wednesday December 11th 7:30pm

The Sligo Academy of Music are having their annual Christmas Spectacular tomorrow evening in the college gym starting at 7:30pm. Tickets will be available at the door and all proceeds go to local charities.

The members of the Summerhill College Student council are organising a Christmas Jumper/Non Uniform Day for this Thursday December 12th in aid of St Vincent De Paul.
Students are asked to bring in €2 which will be collected during first class in the morning.

Summerhill students will provide a Christmas Carol Service on Monday December 9th at 6:30pm in the GP area which is located inside the main entrance of the college.
There will be no charge for the evening but donations towards the music department in the college will be accepted at the door.
All are welcome.

Guidelines for Christmas Exams
Getting Organised
• Check your Timetable and know the time, location and day of each exam.
• Ensure that you bring paper, pens, pencils, calculator, maths set and any other equipment needed to complete the exam. You must have your Journal with you at all times.
• Bring books for the subjects of the next tests so that you can study between exams.
Doing the Exam
• Write your Name and Class clearly on the answer sheet
• Begin by reading the paper carefully underlining keywords. Make sure to follow the instructions given.
• Answer the questions carefully and to the best of your ability.
• Do not rush to hand up your paper. Read over your answers and correct any errors.
• When you are finished, and have checked your answers thoroughly, hand up your answer sheet and study for the next test.
It is important to be respectful of other students doing the exam. Listen to and follow the teacher’s instructions. If you have a question, raise your hand to ask the supervising teacher. You may not talk to any other student during the exam or disrupt the exam in any way.
Supervised Study will be provided in the First Year GP area for the duration of the exams. If you have no exam for the remainder of the day you may go home, if you present a note from your parents in your Journal giving you permission to leave and sign out in the office.

Every Monday from the 2nd of December there will be a prayer gathering at lunch time in Room 308 facilitated by some of our Pope John Paul II Award students.. All are welcome to pop in for a cup of tea, a biscuit and a pause to pray.
